Arc 1 Chapter 7: Mamoru Chiba Tuxedo Mask

Usagi looked at Mamoru confused, she was still trying to put two and two together. "After the battle you passed out, I couldn't wake you." He said, "I see, what is this place by the way?" She asked, "It's my apartment, it was the closest place to bring you to from the battle location." He answered, Usagi got up and placed the pocket watch in her skirt pocket. She then walked towards the table, "Why didn't I see it earlier." She said as she picked up the white mask from the table.

Then she walked up to Mamoru, "The low tone of voice, the tuxedo tie," She said before she placed the mask over Mamoru's eyes. "And those deep blue eyes," She finished, "I'm curious, why did you become Tuxedo Mask in the first place?" She asked, Mamoru took the mask into his hands before speaking. "On my 6th birthday I was in a bad car accident, unfortunately my parents didn't survive the crash." He began, Mamoru walked past Usagi and went towards the sliding doors to the balcony, "I suffered from amnesia, I couldn't remember my name or why I was in the hospital. People had to tell me who I was, because I couldn't remember on my own. Mamoru Chiba, is that who I really am? Or am I someone else entirely," He said as he turned to the blond,

"When I was old enough to leave the orphanage that took me in, I got an apartment and started going to school on scholarships and my parents will of inheritance. But ever since I was a little boy, I kept getting this recurring dream. It was of a beautiful princess, it kept evolving as I got older, until I started high school. Then she would say, 'Find the Legendary Silver Crystal,'. So I went out at night like a sleepwalker on a mission." When he finished, Usagi felt bad for what Mamoru went through as a child.

"So what about you? Aren't you and the Sailor Guardians looking for the crystal as well? How come?" He asked, Usagi didn't know how to reply since she heard Luna's voice in her head from hours earlier, 'He could just be using you.' But as Usagi looked at Mamoru she could see that he wasn't using her to get to the crystal, so she let her guard down. "All Luna would tell us was that us guardians had to find and protect the crystal. But she would occasionally talk about a mysterious moon princess that we have to find and protect from our enemies. I don't understand why Luna won't tell us everything, but we can't pry into the mission, we just have to go along with it." Usagi said, "I have also been having a recurring dream since I was small," Mamoru looked at her in shock, "It's of a handsome prince, and as you said earlier, mine kept evolving as I got older. When I reached Middle school it changed and now I see the prince trying to save the princess from evil people. I wonder what this all means," She stated,

Then the two locked eyes, they stared at each other for what seemed like an hour, neither of them wanted this to stop. That was until Mamoru broke the silence, "Can we keep this a secret between us?" He asked, "Of Course, you can trust me. I won't tell another soul," Usagi said with a smile, Mamoru smiled back at her and Usagi could see the hurt in his eyes. 'I will prove to Luna that Mamoru is not after the crystal like everyone else, he just wants to remember.' Usagi thought, she then walked a little closer to Mamoru and they went back to staring at each other.

They stayed like that before Usagi realized what time it was, "I'm sorry, but I must be going, my mom must be very worried about me. Also Luna might freak out about my location, so I must be going." Usagi said as she turned towards the door to Mamoru's room. The black haired man looked very sad to know that the gorgeous blond had to leave to go home, but he understood. But could see that she was about to leave her school bag, he grabbed it and walked up behind her. "Usako," He said, shocking her with the new pet name, it caused her to blush. But she loved the nickname, "Your bag," He then gave the black school bag to her, "Thank you," She said as she took the bag, then she turned her head to face him. "Mamo," the black haired boy's face went red from hearing the nickname that Usagi gave him, but he liked it. After smiling at each other one last time, Usagi left and went in the direction of home.
