In... and out.
In... and out.I watched her chest rise and fall. This is really happening!!
But I only have one more week. I have to make the most of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I didn't want to wake her so I just waited.
The atmosphere was bright blue. Soft cotton clouds polka-dotting the sky. Bird chattering about. Trees swaying against the light breeze....
That's when I sneeze.
I hear a giggle. "Awe, you sneeze like a kitten!" Mabel spoke softly.
I looked over at her. She was laying on her side with her back facing me and she was fiddling with a flower.
A flower!!
I am going to do all the things she wanted to. And one of those things was to make.... A flower crown.
"Hey, Mabel?" I asked.
"Yes, loser?" She answered sticking her tongue out playfully.
"Want to make a flower crown?" I smiled as her eyes lit up with millions of sparkles.
"Of course!!" She yelled.
"But, how do you make one?" I wonder how people even make those. Like really its just flowers and grass and some other crap.
"Silly boy! I'll show you!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me. We walked and walked until we came upon a field or 'clearing' as Mabel calls it. Whatever you call it, it was beautiful! The sun shone perfectly to where everything had been touched by King Midas. And there had to be a least twenty different kinds of flowers of all shades and colors.
I was speechless. After a while of staring dumfoundedly at the array of flowers, I was finally able to say "Wow.."
"I know right?" She agreed under her breath.
We stood there for awhile, just taking in the beauty. Until finally Mabel broke the silence. "You need to first make a base. To make a base you need some sturdy kind of grass-" she knelt down and picked a piece and held it up for me to see. "-like this."
We picked a couple of pieces then tied them together to measure our heads. "Okay, now what?" I asked putting the grass crown atop my crown.
"Next, you have to find a pretty grass and wrap it around the base to make it thicker." She informed me.
So that is just what we did. I really did not want to admit it, but this was actually fun!
"Now that it is thicker we will finally weave flowers into it." Mabel and I gazed upon all of the different blossoms. Choices, oh the choices.
I ended up plucking just a bunch of various blooms. Once I was finished I compared mine with Mabel's. "Mine is better!" I said.
"No way!! Mine is clearly ftw!" She argued.
"Ftw?" What is ftw? I have never heard of ftw!"For the win. Dummy."
"Oh.."
"Yeah... So what do you want to do now?" She asked.
"Ummmm... I'm not sure." We can't go home!! My parents think she is eight feet underground. We can't go to the Mystery Shack because of the same reason... We could go camping? I guess.. "Let's camp here."
"What?"
"Let's camp here." I repeated.
"Don't we need a tent and sleeping bags and other crap?" She asked.
"True.. True.. Ah! We could buy some."
"Can't we just borrow from Grunkle Stan?"
"No... He sold all that stuff."
"Even his food?"
"No, but he won't give us any. You know how cheap he is." I convinced her.
"Oh, True."
"So, let's camp!"
