Johnny wrote her a letter
Grainy paper of scented flower
She knows he touched the dried wax to his fingers
Few drops of an old cologne left
On wet-dry bit of alcohol
She brings the dark ink to her lips
With a light kiss leaving a black smudge of charcoal-
Colored gloss on the glass as she sips
