✭ So, you and Curly Bill have been dating for a while now. When is he gonna propose to you? He did?! How'd he do it?
✭ He's not the type to get married. A committed relationship is a committed relationship. The way he sees it, a piece of metal wrapped around your finger and a religious ritual does not make the bond between two people stronger. It's the two people in the relationship within the bond that makes it stronger. So it's something he's never really thinking about. But he is thinking about you.
✭ He pays attention to the things you say and to the things you look at. He hears the chats you've had with other married women and the way they'd joke about how the two of you will never get married. How they feel sorry that Curly Bill doesn't seem the slightest bit interested in taking the next big step, despite how long you have been together. He's seen the way you've glanced at wedding dresses when window shopping or how happy you are for others when they announce proposals of their own.
✭ He wouldn't mind any of this on his own, but you are more important to him. And he sees just how much going further would mean for you. So one night, he goes off alone to think by himself. After all, it is a big commitment to be with someone for the rest of your life. Until you came along, the biggest commitment Curly Bill had was to the hangover he gave himself every morning. With a sense of clarity washing over him, he turns in for the night, scheming like a demon about his plans to enact the next day.
✭ The following evening, the both of you just got finished with a fabulous dinner. Despite his propensity for large displays of affection and spectacle, he leads you to the Grand Hotel for what he describes as a romantic night for just the two of you. But when you arrive, there's a trail of rose petals that leads from your room out to the back of the building. There you find a large open circle of candles in which he walks you to the center of. He gently grasps your hands into his and leads you into a slow dance. You stare deeply into his eyes and wonder what the occasion is for. Curly Bill is romantic on occasion for certain, but something just feels different this time. You can't quite put your finger on it, but it's almost as if Curly Bill is... nervous? The thought hardly seems possible, but you cannot find any other way to describe the heat radiating from his hands. Or the weight that seemed to hang from his brow. Regardless, you continue to enjoy the sudden spring of romance.
✭ Eventually he stops and clenches your hands tighter, there is a slight hesitation, but he finally gulps down a bit of air and says, "(Y/N), I've been thinkin' about this for a while now. You've been real good to me, even though I'm proud of what we got goin' on here, I know you're wanting something a bit more. We've had our fun and we've been to Hell and back, I guess what I'm trying to say is..." Curly Bill gets on one knee and pulls out the most beautiful ring you could imagine. "Would you be willin' to be Mrs. Brocius?" Of course, you already know the answer.
✭ Any event is worth inviting the boys to, in Curly Bill's mind. His wedding would not be the exception, as they are like his own family. That being said, he knows how they act, even when they try to behave themselves. So he would leave it up to you to decide whether you'd allow The Cowboys to attend or not. And how kind of you to allow the boys in on your special day.
