One Chance encounter

Chapter Five

The day went quickly, photo signing and meetings made the day fly by, but Joe still couldn't get her out of his head. A few times during the day he had looked at the picture on his phone, the day had ended early and he had headed back to his room to have a nap, only to wake up the next morning to a knock on his door.

Crawling from his bed he opened the door to find Jamie, beaming from ear to ear.

"There you are, you beautiful specimen of a man. I've missed your face, give me a god damn hug." He said as he was pulled into Jamie's arms and almost suffocated. "I've been trying to get hold of you since last night. What happened?"

"I fell asleep mate, I've been exhausted. My phone must be on silent." He said frantically looking for his phone. Opening it up, he saw all the missed calls and messages from the day before. None from Freya, damn he hadn't actually given her his number. What would she be thinking; would she think he doesn't care and that he doesn't want to see her again.

Picking up the room phone he called the reception and asked to be put through to Freya's room.

"I'm afraid Miss Richards had to leave early. I believe she tried to contact you yesterday, but there was no answer from your number." The girl who had answered replied.

"Okay thank you." He said putting the phone back down.

"Mate we have to get moving, they are picking us up in half an hour." Jamie said throwing a shirt from the wardrobe at him.

He dived into the shower cursing himself for sleeping for so long. Getting dressed, he thought of everything he wanted to say to her, that would have to wait until later. Getting into the car waiting he looked at her picture one last time. It was okay after all he had her number, he just hoped she answered when he called and that he hadn't blown it.
