Chapter 18

"Now what's this?" Nadir poked around my mind as I closed my eyes, trying to focus on pushing her out and ignore the pain of her pressure in my head.

"No, stop" I tried weakly.

"Not until I'm finished" she stated darkly and with that I was thrown back into my past, sitting in my quarters at the temple.

"Do you know where General Jayko is?" I heard a clone rushing around the hallway questioning people with urgency.

"Rex?" I stepped out to see him in a rush trying to find me.

Rex.

"General!" He ran over and stood before me quickly, panic written on his face, helmet clutched in his hand.

"What's going on?" I worried at his actions and clear panic.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Nadir asked with interest at what this memory could be about.

"Commander Tano has been arrested for killing Letta Turmond"

"What? Ahsoka would never do that" I argued in disbelief.

"That's what General Skywalker said"

"Where is he now?" I had a pit in my stomach, knowing he would do something he would later regret.

"He went to get her out." Rex explained simply as if it wasn't going to be a bigger problem later.

"Let me know when he returns" I gave Rex his orders with a pointed finger.

"Yes, sir. Uh where can I find you?" He asked his second thought before I turned away from him.

"Just comm me" I told him the simplest way to contact me.

"Yes sir." And with that we went our separate ways. Turning back into my quarters I tried to piece everything together in my mind.

"So your friend turned to the darkness and you didn't follow?"

"She was framed, she didn't turn and neither will I" I glared at her.

"The suspect has killed three clones. Code red. If you see the target, shoot to kill." Fox ordered his men. Anakin, Rex and I ran around the corner to find three dead clones and Commander Fox standing over them.

"Delay that order, commander fox." Anakin instructed.

"That order will come soon enough" Nadir mentioned, referring to the order to kill all Jedi.

"She's killed troopers." Fox argued against Anakin's orders.

"I know Commander Tano. She would never do something like this." Rex argued back.

"These are definitely lightsaber cuts" I noted, inspecting the dead clones before us.

"Then who did?" Fox voiced the important question to Rex's statement.

"Quiet!" Anakin shoved back both men and stepped through. "Ahsoka! It's me, anakin. Stop running." Anakin called out through the echo of the halls, hoping she would hear his plea.

"You can't help me, master. Someone's setting me up." She replied and I could hear the hurt in her tone.

You can't help me master.

Im on my own now, no help from Obi Wan, no help from Anakin, no council.

All alone.

"I believe you, Ahsoka." Anakin told her.

"But no one else will." She replied again.

"Keep searching until we find her. Rex, call security. Tell them we need to search the entire base. Now!" Anakin ran off again in search of his Padawan.
