When he stretches instead of bones cracking you can hear gears clicking against each other
because he's a roboy who grew up by a tech hyperenthusiast he's super smart about robots + stuff. And he doesn't know a lot about human mannerisms (slang, etiquette, what words are considered weird to say in informal speech, etc)
He doesn't know anything about idioms, metaphors, sarcasm or hyperboles, which also contributes to his using very literal scientific speech in situations he maybe shouldn't, just because it confuses him a lot.
Exercise is way different for him because he has to work his gears into his workouts as well as his muscles, so a lot of his gym classes in school involved some special needs treatment (sitting out of the ones that could be harmful to him, and having to keep him away from really fragile stuff/people due to his unnatural roboy strength)
Also he had to keep it a secret mostly when he was younger, so he wore a guise of autism and it unsurprisingly worked (see above)
Also he was always kind of heavy for his age due to the fact that he was half metal
the plus side of not being able to dream normally is that we don't have to worry about shoehorning the fnaf 4 shit into the story!! Which also means Evan never has to die!! (he's still gunna die, just not by Michael's hands. The bite of 83 will have been committed by his "friends")
He doesn't eat normally because he has a really weird stomach and he always has to cut his food into really small bites
He also walks really funny and his motor skills aren't the best (mostly because of the combo muscles and gears in him)
He's really weird about romance and would always ask Carol stuff about it because she understood it better than you or I or Mikey
Also because he's half Spring Bonnie he's got this thing where he burts into song randomly, usually one of the ones Spring Bon sung, and he's really good at it but his singing voice as well as his regular one sounds sorta robotic but he thinks it's awesome 😎
And he doesn't have any of the stupid body things humans have (itches, hiccups, tics, stims) but he does get glitchy from time to time and one of his main glitches is a "broken record"-type effect where he cuts himself off and repeats himself a lot
He has internet access inside of him and he lets his coworkers hotspot off him
He is (mostly) Free™ from the limitations and weaknesses of the human body. Meaning he can and will scale a building if he wants to, but he'd need help to get back down
He never understood why people hate people just for Being Different, and being a Different Person himself this also affected him
He was very antagonized and bullied as a kid being the son of William Afton and Spring Bonnie and ofc for just being half robot (neither of which things he had any say in, of course)
He unironically had an emotional attachment to the exotic butters; they were the first gift he ever really recieved (even if he was technically paying for them, the price being taken out of his paycheck) so he found them really special
When Henry set the pizza place ablaze, instead of burning up like a regular human would, Mikey went out just like the animatronics he salvaged (melting, charring, and his parts fusing into the blob)
this one makes me really excited to draw for: when he did the audio tapes part, when he played the sound and recorded the animatronics' reactions, his parts would go absolutely INSANE at some of the sounds. Like he would glitch out HARDCORE.
As a kid, his classmates found this out through watching a Bill Nye video on an old TV, and he started bugging out from some of the sounds that would come from the box. They, being children, incessantly bullied him for this, and some even went out of their way to trigger these glitches and cause harm to the poor roboy. Fortunately, he finally found some friends and those people were Sean, Jack and Miles!
He can change his voice whenever he wants and his favourite voice to "mimic" is one similar to the canon FunFoxy voice, he just thinks it's really fun + he was pushed over a lot as a kid due to, ya know, being him, so he likes to be heard
also he's really got the "fuck gender roles" type attitude
He has a mental recipe book so he can access any recipe at any time! The only problem with that? He's a shit chef so it's effectively useless.
He uses a damp towel to shower; imagine cleaning your phone, that's basically the process. He's extremely susceptible to malfunctions when he handles water, due to being half robot. They first found this out when he was three months old and they put him in the full bathtub for the first time, and... Let's just say he was in the hospital for an additional few weeks as an infant.
He doesn't know his real birthday since it was never celebrated; he's always counted from January 1st instead of his actual birthdate. But on the plus side that means it's easy to count his age from a third-person perspective! Just count however many years it's been since his birthyear, no nonsense
He's non binary because robot gender is crazy. Still am amab, though; well, as close to anything like "amab" as a robot human hybrid can get.
The doctors who delivered him, when they did the heartbeat thing with the stethescope, well you can imagine how incredibly confused they were.
Mike's full legal name is Michael Robbie Loid Wally Terrence Afton, but he goes by Mike. And yes, almost all of those are puns ;)
Also for the purposes of this AU I will be having his birth be in the early 2000s, meaning everything will also be happening within the past 30 years from now and into the future, because I can't be bothered to figure out the limitations and implications of 70/80s technology.
