finney walked over to the toilet and began taking off the lid of it. i walked over to him and stood beside him and looked into the toilet. i was confused on what we were getting out of it.. nasty water??
finney walked over to the wall and started... bashing the toilet lid with it? it finally made sense. but how could i help? this was gonna take forever.
and it did. for hours all he did was dig at the wall with the lid. i had asked him several times if i could help in some way. every time, he said no. he was devoted to this wall.
i walked back and forth, probably took a good nap in the time. there was a time where finney took a break though. only to drink the nasty water in the toilet.
i mean, we had no choice. but, as for me, i'd rather die of thirst. i felt horrible for him though. he had done everything and had gotten nowhere. we did everything.
more digging. more digging. more digging. he never stopped. he had made a ton of progress. he eventually stopped when he hit something hard. i ran over to him and we both started tearing away the dirt. metal.
we hit metal. we gave eachother a look. there was bolts in the corners but we had nothing to unscrew it with. i frantically looked around for something to use. "y/n" he said. "yeah?" i said. he pulled out his rocket ship and looked at me. "oh."
he tried to unscrew it with all different parts of it, but nothing. i had an idea. "wait here" i said. i ran over to the toilet. i reached into the muddy water of the toilet. no going back now. i reached for the handle part of it inside and took of the bolt of it.
i ran back over to finney and got on my knees. i put the bolt over the screw and used it to unscrew it. i let out a laugh when the screw came off. so did finney.
once i finally got all 4 off we both laughed in joy. finney looked at me for a moment, and embraced me with a hug. the tightest hug ever. we both laughed into each others shoulders. "we're getting out!" finney said.
we looked back at the panel and finney yanked it out. there was still another grate. i pulled it out and thought we were home free. finney shined his light into it. there was... cold meat?
we started shoveling the nest out of the freezer. finney slowly climbed into the freezer while i helped him in. he tried ramming the door with his shoulder. again. and again. over and over. "finn it's not working!" i said. when he was finally grabbed a hold of the door of the freezer.
i pulled him by his arms and helped him back out.
he immediately began sobbing into my shoulder. he backed up into the corner. sobbing. tears falling down his face. i crawled beside him and brought his face to my chest. he tightened his arms around me.
i put my legs over his, to make it more comfortable for us. i started rubbing his back and ran my hands through his hair. now, our hope was gone.
silence. nothing but finneys sobs remained.
