Chapter 6: Masks

Y/N's POV:

I walked out the door, looking fabulous! Weird... I walked to the town and headed to the lava cream shop. He was already sitting down with his head laying face down on the table.

"Hey..?" I say as I creep towards the table. His head shoots up from the table when he hears my voice.

"Oh uh... hi!" He scratches the back of his neck.

"We are in public you know..." I say, obviously talking about the mask that he wasn't wearing.

"Yeah..?"

"The mask..."

"Oh yeah! Everyone has already seen my face... There was an incident last night." He said and I was interested. I sat down in a seat across from him, wanting to know about this 'incident'.

"Go on..." I say, asking about last night

*He explains what happened (I'm too lazy to write it.) *

"That's all I guess...Do you know anything about the human?" He asks. I suddenly remember the human. She was the one who gave me a Rubik cube that one day. I didn't want to rat her out on anything, plus it wasn't anything major.

"No." I lie. I knew he could tell I was lying though.

"Right...We are here for lava cream, right? What flavor do you want?" He asks, changing the subject.

"F/F pleaseeee!" I shout.

"One Vanilla and one F/F!" He yells to a waiter. (Yes, he likes basic vanilla.)

"Vanilla!?"

"Yes, I like vanilla! So what?"

"Pfft!"

"Still wearing your mask?" He asks as he leans over the table to make our faces inches away from each other.

I feel the blush form on my skin. Thank god for the mask! "Uh, yeah..."

"I would say you can take it off but your face hasn't been leaked." He jokes. Maybe I'm a little bit happy he doesn't have a mask anymore. Now I will always get to see his face.

"You look nice!" I compliment his clothes, I was getting tired of the armor.

"Your Vanilla sir and here is that F/F ma'am." The waiter says as he hands us out lava cream.

"So do you!" He takes a bite out of his lava cream. "I still want that mask to go though..."

"But everyone will see!" I justify.

"I can fix that." He says, right before he spawns his staff. He hops on with his lava cream in one hand and the other is reaching out for me. I take his hand and he pulls me back onto the staff. Just like that, he zooms off.

We were high above the town, I could see everything! He started flying towards the palace..? "Why are we here..?" I ask but he doesn't respond. "Goldie..?" Was he about to turn me in? All of this was an act? Just then he flew right over the palace to a broken-down watch tower.

"It was abandoned a while ago, now it is my little secret spot." He says as he sits down on the floor. I get off the staff and sit by him. Suddenly he puts one arm around me the other is unclipping my mask. He slowly sets the mask down on the floor and pulls me back. We were now laying down with his arm around me..?

"Hunter." He slips out

"Huh?" I questioned.

"You called me Goldie back there. My name is Hunter."

"Y/N...That's my name." I respond back.

"Well, Y/N..." He says as he gets up and heads to a small table. I noticed a radio on the table. He presses a button and a song starts to play. (Hit play on the song at the top!) "May I have this dance?" He gets on one knee and reaches out his hand for me to take. I grab his hand and as soon as he feels my touch, he pulls me into position to dance.

As we walts back and forth, I start to get lost in my thoughts. I know this song! It's actually really good! I look around a bit just to get to know the scenery the table with the radio, a punching bag, and a huge book pile. I try to focus more on the moment. His hair smells like mint. It's nice!

Who am I kidding? I'm just trying to distract myself from my feelings! There is no way that we are just friends, right? Maybe this is how he treats good friends. He is too good for me.

Hunter's POV:

What do I do!? Kiss her? No that's too far! Just ask her out? I don't know!

"I think I should get going...yeah. Bye..." She whispers as she walks away and hops on her staff. That was my only chance! What did I do wrong!? I was so brave until now.

Y/N's POV:

I panicked! I need time to think this over. I stopped at the market just to get a quick snack when I walked into someone.

The human...

"Oh, I am soooo sorry!" She explained

"No, I'm sorry. I wasn't looking!" I replied

"Wait your the Rubix cube girl! You have really pretty eyes! I couldn't see last time because...you know, the mask." She states. How can she see my eyes? I have my mas- I touch my face, then realize. I forgot my mask!

"Sorry I'm in a rush and I got to go! Byeee" I yell, before running off.

That's all floksss! In the next few chapters, it will slow down for a bit but get interesting again real fast. I don't have much to say sooo, good day/night. Love you and thank you for all the reads!❤
