Y/N's POV:

I thought that he might need some alone time so I left. I walked home, thinking about Hunter. I wasn't completely sure what he was going through, but I know it was hard. I wanted to give him some time before he told me everything if she told me everything.

When I got home I felt something in my nose. I went to blow my nose and the only thing I saw on the tissue was blood. I panicked! I cleaned it up but I felt the beast start to come out. No no nooooo. The blood was gone but the beast wanted more.

Hunter's POV:

I heard the door creak open.

"Maybe it's just a stray Palacemen..?"

"No, Y/N. Trust me, I recognize this one." Y/N and Gus? I step out from the shadows and Gus gasps. "What are you doing here, Golden Guard?" Gus ask. Y/N just stands there, acting like a lost puppy.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" I chuckle. "But rest assured, Gus, I-" I was interrupted by a loud crash. Shoot. They look around and notice my...area.

"I'll ask you one more time. What are you doing here, Hunter?" Gus asks again. Flapjack starts to tug on my hair.

"OW, OW, OW, OW. okay fine!" I stomp. "The truth is, my living situation has been compromised. Maybe! So, I just need a place to crash. Temporarily! Hexside was the only place I could think of..." I confess.

"How...vague of you." He says, confused.

"Have you seen Luz by any chance?" Y/N buts in.

"She's not with the Owl Lady?" Just then the PA starts talking.

"Students, please join me in the gym for an important announcement." The principal says.

"I'm not sure what you're going through, but that much Hex Mix can't be good for your stomach." Gus tosses me his lunch bag. I open it to find a sandwich, an orange, and an apple. Gus runs off a signals Y/N to follow. Did she join Hexside? She gives me a quick hug and runs off.

I wanted to follow up so I could talk to Y/N and the others, mostly Y/N. I crept out of the paranoratorium and to the gym when an illusion was cast. I saw Gus but no Y/N. Gus was being forced to get a sigils. I ran in a pushed the head witch of illusions off Gus.

I grabbed his arm and ran! I kept running until I bumped into a locker.

"Why are we here?" I ask. "Whoa, Gus. Wha- Is your eye okay?" I keep asking questions for obvious reasons.

"Huh?" He groans. "My spell, it's still active!" He exclaims.

"Well, you're a witch. Unspell it."

"No! I don't know how. I've never made one this big before."

"Well, if we're still in Hexside, we should find a teacher. Maybe they'll know how to help."

"Hunter, why'd you save me back there? From getting a sigil? Don't those guys work for you?"

"I owed you, for the food," I say as we run into a staircase. "Are these real steps or illusion steps?" I take a big step hoping it's just an illusion. I crash and fall onto the floor. "Real steps."

"When we first met, you were trying to trick me into joining a coven. And now you're helping me stay away from one. Cause of a sandwich?" He says as I get up off the floor and adjust my new and homemade cloak.

"It was a good sandwich."

"No sandwich is that good." So not true. "Come on. If we wanna fund a way through this, we need to trust each other. What's going on with you?" I start thinking about Belos again. And what everyone might think about me being...just a copy.
