It turns out that I didn't need to worry, apparently being married to a duke gave you some specific education and one of them being that you had to speak multiple languages. The benefit of that is that I think she speaks better English than I do. After herding us into the penthouse, the introductions were made "Mãe, this is my fiancé and the mother to my babies Leah Mackenzie, Leah this is my mother Lady Talia Calisto, a duquesa" I hold out my hand but she shakes her head "None of that for family" then she gives me a squeezing hug, I squeak out "Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Calisto" and she steps back and laughs "Sorry, I got a little excited there, but please call me Mãe" I smile at her but my smile fades with her next question "When will your mother be joining us" Raul growls "A mãe dela está morta, mãe" I don't know what was said but she replies "Pobre menina, vou cuidar dela" then looks at me "I'm so sorry dear, I didn't know" I smile "It's ok it happened quite a while ago, but I have a friend that's almost a sister and she would like to visit from time to time" she nods "Ofcouse, I'm glad there's someone, now show me my grandchildren" Now this I can smile about, I extract Tatum first, he was sleeping and my lifting him arouse him "This is Tatum Afonso Calisto, Afonso I take it is a family name" there are now tears in her eyes and she nods "It was my father's name, Raul's favorite grandfather" and takes the baby and starts cooing at him, I bend down and lift Rory "and this is your granddaughter Rory Olivia Calisto, named after my best friend" she hands Tatum to Raul and reaches for Rory and starts cooing at her too "I like that you tried to be unique and still bring in family names" I beam at her, that was another fear, that she would be insulted about the names. While she is looking down at them, she says "eles são lindos e serão amados por muitos" I look at Raul, but she translates herself "They are beautiful and will be loved by many" then she looks up at Raul "Você já contou an ela sobre o casamento tradicional que precisa ser feito?" I look at Raul and he shakes his head "Não houve tempo, mãe, assim que ela disse sim ao casamento, sua bolsa estourou" I look back at her "Don't you think you better tell her? "that makes me raise an eyebrow "I'll take the babies and give them a bath" I must look panicked because she smiles "I am quite capable to look after two babies, I have done it before and I'm hoping I'll do it again" she winks and exits the room with a baby in each arm.

She turns to me and raises her eyebrows "What were you talking about?" I take a deep breath because I know she's not going to like what I'm about to say "Well as you know, I'm a duke, since my father has passed on which automatically makes me next in line, which means by our traditions, when I marry I need to have my wedding in the capela, so the sacerdote can bless the marriage" she looks horrified so I try a different route "Basically we are catholic, so we have the ceremony in a, um, church and because we are high in society, we have the, um, reception in a large space so the whole town can attend" damning my accent, it thickens when I'm nervous and I am defiantly nervous as I'm worried that this will scare her away, she nods but I can see she's silently freaking out "I know that you are a private person and would prefer a smaller wedding but unfortunately this a necessity for me" I look at the floor not wanting her to see my distress, she step towards me and places her hand on my cheek and makes me look at her "Raul, I love you, I'm not denying that all of this isn't a huge shock because it is but for the same reason you are willing to just have your mom come to a small wedding this side, I will do the same for you" she goes onto her tepee toes and kisses me. I kiss her back and then she steps back and looks at me "I have a few conditions" I nod, ready to agree to anything "I want Olivia there as my maid of honor, I want only her" I nod, my mom will be disappointed because she always wanted me to have a large wedding party but I'm willing to compromise for Leah "I want to choose my own dress" I nod, already knowing there is going to be a lot of compromising all around "And don't you dare leave me alone" she glares at me "I would never dream of it" I say as I walk towards her and pull her into my arms and kiss her, I need to show her all the things I want her to know but I don't know to say it, as I pull back she starts giggling "What are you laughing about?" I ask her and she giggles harder "I don't think we need to tell anyone how the twins were conceived" that pulls a hard laugh from me "Yes, we need to keep that to ourselves" although I regret that, that was how the twins were conceived but I don't regret the actual event because I think that was the hottest thing that I have ever done. I was about to remind her of everything that we did that night when my mother walks back in with the twins "Its dinner time for these two" as she hands the babies to Leah who has sat down on the couch, I go and fetch the donut that I purchased for her to make it easier to feed two hungry babies.
