Chapter 10

I'm feeling like that thing from Alien is trying to break from my body but got lost and decided to come out my virgina, "Try Olivia again, I need that bitch here!" I look at Raul through my sweat stained eyes "One last time Bela moca, but then I want you to concentrate on delivering those babies" I huff at him but grab his hand as another contraction starts "I will close the boarder of my uterus until she has arrived, I made them, they'll listen to me!" He leans down and kisses me "I don't think it works that way" he leaves the room. The doctor explained that the babies want out and by the time they checked me, I was 7cm dilated, too late to cut me open so now I'm here about to squeeze these two out and my best friend is nowhere to be found. "Look who I bumped into" In walks Raul and Olivia, finally! "My best bitch ever! I though you would miss the grand finale, were the hell were you?" she raises her eyebrow and Raul fills her in "We were at dinner when her water broke and we were too late for the C-section so here we are, oh and she's decided she going in it with no meds" she rushes next to my bed and grabs my hand "Wow I don't know if you are brave or stupid but I admire you just the same, I'm so excited"

The nurse walks into the room and checks me while under the sheet at my nether regions, she pops her head out and asks. "Leah, is everybody here, now? Because these two are not waiting they are coming" I nod my head "Call Dr. Leyton, Miss Mackenzie is crowning." It's like she pressed the play button because everybody started doing things and I end up with sitting at an angle with my legs in stirrups, Raul and Olivia stand each side of me holding my hands and my doctor looking at my undercarriage. "Leah, I need you to push as the next contraction starts, Daddy and best friend I need you to pull her knees towards you... ok here it comes.... Push" Oh my! This is a huge contraction "Ahhhhh!" I scream through it "1...2...3 push" demands the doctor, I give a real big push and I feel as if I'm being stretched to the limit and give a scream as I something slip from me, I sob as I see the doctor holding a scrounged up bloody baby that is giving a great impression of a mandrake. "Congratulations, its Boy" she turns to the nurse who materialized next to her with a towel and she hands over the baby to clean and weigh then the nurse places the baby on my chest, I smile down at him and then look up to both Raul and Olivia "Meet Tatum Afonso Calisto" Olivia starts to cry and Raul has a proud papa smirk

"Whoa mommy, we're not finished here, at the next contraction, push" The nurse takes Tatum from my arms and places him in an incubator that's been placed next to me, the contraction hits me out of nowhere, I gasp at the intensity "Daddy and best friend I need you to pull her knees towards you again ....Push Leah, I know your tired but just hold on" "Ahhhhh!" I scream through it "3...2...1 push" demands the doctor, I give a real big push and I scream as I something slip from me, My muscles must have loosened up since the last delivery, I sob once more as I see the doctor holding a scrounged up bloody baby, she doesn't cry like her brother but rather looks at the world around her. "Congratulations, its Girl" and it seems that in no time at all, I'm holding my baby girl "Meet Rory Olivia Calisto" Olivia places her hand over her heart and whispers "Aww" I look at Raul "I love you" he kisses my forehead "I love you more Bela moca". The doctor clears her throat, and we all look at her "We are going to take these two up to NICU and we will do tests to make sure there a no complications" there are tears rolling down my face, but I was pre-warned, so I nod. Then the babies are taken to NICU, while I deliver the after birth and I am then cleaned up and moved to a room where I am then allowed to sleep

After I made sure my little babies were delivered to the NICU ok I return to the birthing room where I find an empty room, I almost had a heart attack, but a nurse interrupts my panic attack and shows me to Leah's room. I am now starring at her sleeping form, and I am overpowered with the love that I feel for her, although, all through the birth all I could think was I wish I could take the pain for her. She was so strong and brave that I am proud to be about to call her mine, I witnessed the miracle of birth. I used to roll my eyes when someone spoke about it, but nothing can prepare you to witness it and I will forever have those moments imprinted onto my brain. The twins are healthy, strong and perfect. My family will be released tomorrow, and I can officially take them home. I step out of the room to use my cell "Sup" I smile at Andrew's answer "Hey bro, I am just calling you to let you know that I am a father, my twins were born" I can't believe I'm saying something like this "Yoh bro, congratulations! How's mom and babies doing?" I smile at the memories "It was magical Drew, they are all healthy beautiful and are in NICU getting tests done" I can't hear what he says next because there is so much disturbance but I do catch "I'll see you soon" then he hangs up, I shrug and dial my mother's number, needing her to know about the births "Bom dia mãe tenho boas notícias" I say when she answers the phone.
