-PROLOGUE-
The sounds of trees rustling in the breeze that August evening echoed around the empty countryside. The long grass near the woods too, whistled invitingly with their lush green blades. The crisp colours of the evening sky reflected in the nearby pond, as though the water was a looking-glass. Wisps of cottony clouds decorated the sky's enrapturing hues, and birds chirped their evening songs as they dotted the sky in their own flocks.
A little cottage interrupted the viridian meadow's carpet, standing straight and new amongst the whistling wind's force. There was a windchime on its porch, which tinkled as the dancing air twirled around it, and the rocking chair placed in the corner creaked as it moved a little.
Small, climbable trees stood around the meadow, under one of which a man sat with his back against the trunk, reading a book, whilst a little girl, no older than five, ran about, chasing butterflies. Her light grey dress billowed a bit as she ran faster and faster, occasionally shifting shape to a wolf and snapping at the winged insects.
The man looked up from his book and chuckled, the sound clear through the singing sounds of nature. "Khalida," he said, "Why don't you sit and rest for a little while?"
The girl, Khalida, huffed a little, but nevertheless sat down next to him, a broad smile on her face as she peered over his arm to see what he was reading. It was an encyclopedia about various types of plants, and she found it quite interesting. She watched as the man turned the book's pages, her bronze eyes glinting gold in the setting sun's light as they stated at the pictures, enthralled.
"Papa," she said, in her high-pitched little girl voice, "What's for dinner?"
Her father smiled and replied, "Shall we go inside to find out?"
Khalida leapt up eagerly, and took her father's hand in her small one, making him run to the house with her.
In they both went, and the little girl dashed into their kitchen, standing on her toes to peer over the tall counter. Upon smelling her favourite food, grilled chicken and rice, a little tail appeared on her, wagging excitedly.
"Lida, step away from the counter." The man smiled as he placed two bowls of rice on the table.
The girl's tail disappeared as she sat at the table, and she began to talk excitedly to her father as she ate. Her eating habits then made Remus Lupin thankful that he disliked the concept of tablecloths.
Remus lifted his daughter off the chair to take her upstairs for bed, once both of them finished their food.
Once Khalida had been tucked in, he told her a story till her soft and level breathing told him she was asleep. Bidding her a final quiet 'goodnight', he exited the room and retired for bed himself.

Insight on Remus and Khalida's relationship!!! I know it's not that suitable for a prologue, but I quite liked it! I hope you did too <320 comments please, and don't forget to voteee. First person to comment gets the next chapter dedicated to them!
Have a fabulous day/night <3333
With love and hugs,
