Virgil paces across the living room and Logan glances up at him from over the notebook he's writing in, "Pacing isn't going to make him come back faster."
"I should go get him.." Virgil says softly, biting on the tip of his thumb as he continues pacing, "He's been gone long enough, what if he got hurt?"
"Virgil," Logan sighs, "Would you like some coffee?"
Virgil stops and looks at Logan in bewilderment, "What?"
"Would you like some coffee?" Logan reiterates, "Getting yourself worked up isn't in your best interest. We follow the plan, you will meet him in the dark palace common room after everyone has gone to sleep and he will relay any information he has found. If he believes he should return due to danger, he will let you know then."
Virgil sighs softly and nods, running a hand through his hair, "You're right. Of course you're right."
"Naturally." Logan adjusts his glasses, "Now, coffee?"
...
Remy looks around as he closes the door behind him. He hums to himself, "Hm, I've never been in emo daydream's room before. It's quite drab honestly."
He sits on the edge of the bed, crossing one leg over the other as he rests his chin in his palm, "What's it even doing here though?"
He sighs and conjures a Starbucks iced coffee, taking a sip as he looks over everything in the room. After a moment he stills and leans back, staring at the cup in his hand, "Wait.. How did I..?"
Remy stands so suddenly he almost drops his precious drink, "My powers!"
He continues to stare at his coffee in astonished confusion. He frowns and looks around, "Couldn't be Anx's room, that doesn't make sense. I couldn't conjure my precious coffee in the subconscious or the mind palace. So why here?"
Remy purses his lips as he thinks everything over, taking a quick break to savor his coveted drink. He leaves Virgil's room, shutting the door back behind him. When he does, however he's startled by Deceit. Remy puts a hand to his own chest, gasping out, "You scared me!"
"Having a terrible time snooping about our home?" Deceit hisses.
Remy shrugs, "Not snooping, geez. Just taking a look around, I've never been here, remember?"
He flicks Deceit's forehead, smirking, "Last time I saw you was before the big Split, you know what I'm saying?"
Deceit glares, rubbing the spot Remy flicked before adjusting his hat, "I forget."
"Right," Remy snaps, sipping his coffee obnoxiously loud just to get on Deceit's nerves, "So you totes get why I'm spending my time looking around! I mean, what else am I supposed to do with my time?"
Remy pouts, crossing one arm under the other holding the coffee, "Our precious Lights have locked down the mind palace, so I can't go raid their fridge."
"Please do raid ours, it's not like it's full of mold and science experiments courtesy of the Duke." Deceit rolls his eyes.
"He did know how to throw a killer party." Remy smirks, chuckling at his own jokes. Regardless of how much time he got to spend with the various Sides, he always did find Remus at least entertaining.
"Yes, well," Deceit waves a hand dismissively, "That matters now."
"Because you made them fuse?" Remy tilts his head, his dark eyes giving away nothing, "What's the point in that anyway? We both know Roman and Remus are waaaaaay more fun apart. King is such a antisocial jerk who only wants to talk about himself and threaten the beautiful people."
Deceit scoffs, "I can't tell King Creativity is quite infuriating."
"So why though?" Remy leans forward, his sunglasses sliding down his face a little, "If you don't like him, I mean. Why bring him back?"
"Because it is about me." Deceit frowns, not liking Remy's sudden interest. Or perhaps Sleep isn't merely bored and doesn't want to gossip. He remembers that much about the oldest Side.
Remy shrugs and leans back, finishing off his coffee with a satisfied sigh, "So what's the sitch, babes?"
"Excuse me?" Deceit raises an eyebrow.
"Well," Remy gestures at Deceit, dismissing his empty cup into the void with his other hand, "What's this big plan of yours supposed to do? Cause you're making my job real hard, you know. And our poor Thomathy is burning every bridge he has without Pattoncakes there to correct his behavior."
"Not to mention cutting off the Lights entirely from him so he literally has no fear or brain power in that beautiful head of his, either." Remy puts his hands on his hips, "I had to put him to sleep so he wouldnt play chicken with a semi."
Deceit frowns, taking all of this in. Remy stares at him, awaiting some kind of answer. Deceit growls lightly, clenching his hands into fists, "That was a side effect I accounted for."
"So?" Remy leans towards him again, "What are you gonna do about it, Lord of the Lies? Cause you defs are going to do something about it, D. Don't make me have to ground you."
Deceit glares at Remy but doesn't say anything. After staring one another down for a few more moments, Deceit turns and walks off with a dramatic flourish of his capette. Remy watches him leave before turning and walking off himself, looking for something else to do to kill time until he had to meet Virgil tonight. As he walks around, he finds something peculiar. A door he hadn't known was here before.
The door is completely black with whatever name was on it scratched up, making it completely illegible. The most peculiar part is that there are bright glowing orange chains criss-crossed all over the door, keeping it locked. Remy raises an eyebrow and steps up to the door, raising a hand to knock. After a moment of confused hesitation, he knocks on the door. He waits in silence for a few minutes and just when he takes a step back and starts to walk awat, he hears a voice call out from within.
"Hello."
