In the darkness, he sits alone. Nothing around, just the darkness surrounding him. No voices, no footsteps, nothing to see and nothing to hear. Alone in a void of endlessness. The subconscious is fickle thing, really a terrible place to live. Only a small section of the endless void belongs to him, bends to his will and command. But even that can't help the situation he's found himself. Lying inside the void, enveloping him as he stares into nothingness with a devoid expression. He's given up. He can't save them, he tried. He's tired, exhausted. Done.
He's never been one to give up without a fight, but there's only so much fighting he can do. It's true he's quite strong but the limits to his powers occur in his drive. So if he's given up, he's powerless and no amount of faking can bring his powers back. So he lies here, empty, waiting for everything to end, to resolve itself one way or another. He doesn't like it, in fact he detests the very thought but what else can he do? By no means are his powers limitless even if he still believes everything could be returned to the way it was.
"I'm lost." He sighs, "This is so fucked."
"There you are, Sleep." Logan's voice causing Remy to open his eyes and he sits up as he looks around.
Remy frowns, "Logan? How did you get here?"
"You are not the only one who can traverse the subconcious." Logan states, walking over and kneeling beside him, "I'm a grey Side, too, remember?"
"Right.." Remy says slowly, lying back down, "Anyways, babes, what are you doing here?"
"I want your help." Logan says simply.
Remy shrugs, resting his hands behind his head, "Hate to disappoint, but I'm not gonna be any help now."
The logical Side frowns lightly, "What do you mean?"
Remy tilts his head to the side to look at Logan, raising an eyebrow, "You don't know how my powers work?"
Logan shakes his head, "Regretfully, I do not. You never stayed around long enough for me to study you when you used your powers around us."
"Oh," Remy nods, looking thoughtful, "Guess that makes sense. But, like, you're Logic, aren't you supposed to know everything?"
"It is true I know a great deal, but I do not in fact know everything there is to learn. I spend a lot of my free time educating myself on various subjects, but your powers are not one of them." Logan explains.
Remy just nods, staring back up at the void that surrounds them, "My bad, babes. I kinda just assumed."
"Most do." Logan adjusts his glasses, "Regardless, are you going to enlighten me to as how you can no longer be of assistance?"
"Dreams work on belief, and well of course imagination, too. Like our beloved Creative Twins, I can conjure pretty much anything I can think of, and of course I have my specific dream powers." Remy explains, "The problem is, uh, my powers are pretty much useless and cease to exist if I don't.. You know, believe in them."
"I do not follow," Logan shakes his head, his expression a mix of concentration and annoyance.
Remy sighs and looks back at him, "My powers won't work if I don't believe they can do anything."
"Oh." Logan says softly, a look of realization crossing his face, "I see. Fascinating."
"Not the time," he mutters to himself before clearing his throat and speaking to Remy again, "Just come back to the Mind Palace with me. Perhaps we can find a way to ignite your..beliefs again, as it were."
Remy shrugs, "No thanks, Logie bear. I'm good lounging right here."
"Do not call me that." Logan sighs, "Remy, please."
Remy glances back at him, Logan wasn't one known to beg for anything. He shrugs again and looks away. Logan groans softly, pinching the bridge of his nose. He sighs again, "If what you say is true, you can't make yourself coffee here anymore."
Remy snaps back to look at him, almost glaring, "Yeah, so?"
"Come back with me and I'll make you coffee."
"Starbucks brand?" Remy asks, almost looking like a kicked puppy now.
"If it will get you to stand, yes." Logan nods.
Remy groans dramatically, pushing himself up with such dramatics it would rival Roman on his worse days. Logan smirks lightly, standing himself. He holds a hand out towards Remy, "Shall we?"
"Fine." Remy rolls his eyes, taking Logan's hand, "The coffee better be good or I'm coming right back here and then I'll just sleep until this is all over."
"Won't that put Thomas to sleep?" Logan raises an eyebrow.
Remy shrugs, "Yup. He'd probably do less damage like that, too. It's not like he's been productive lately anyway."
Logan sinks out with Remy and they rise up in the living room of the Mind Palace. Remy looks around, crossing his arms, "Where's Emo Daydream?"
"In his room, he wanted to be left alone." Logan replies, walking to the kitchen to make the coffee he bribed Sleep with. Remy sits on the couch, leaning back and crossing his legs. He frowns, "It's..way too quiet. I don't like it like this."
"I like the quiet," Logan says, "Just.. Under different circumstances. I agree, this.. Predicament we're in isn't a very good one."
"You get why I gave up?" Remy lounges against the back of the couch, leaning his head back so he's staring at the ceiling.
"I.. Understand." Logan says softly, "But I do not agree with it. We can't all just give up because what's happening is not in our favor."
"Yeah, I get that you think that, but do you actually think we have a shot at putting everything back the way it should be?" Remy asks.
Logan is silent as he gets a mug down and sets it against the counter next to the coffee pot. He turns back to look at Remy and Remy is looking back at him now, awaiting an answer.
Logan sighs, running a hand through his hair, "As Logic it is my job to find every and any possible, viable answer to any problem. So yes, I do think there is a way to return to what we once had. I just.. Haven't found the answer yet."
Remy stares at him, he could see the vulnerable look Logan was trying to guard from him. Remy smiles lightly, "Well, if Sir-Knows-It-All thinks we can do this, who am I to tell you we can't?"
"I appreciate the sentiment," Logan smiles lightly in return, "But please do refrain from nick-naming me."
