I'm Cold.

Knocking on the door became louder and louder after what felt like the hundredth knock.

Bang!

Bang!

Mark sighed in exasperation. He slowly got up to answer the door, sleep weighed on his bones as he moved. He had a 12 hour shift last night and he really just wanted sleep. He reached the front door in slow, dragging steps. The banging on the doors continued as he made his way there. When Mark reached the door he looked through the small peephole. He sighed when he saw no one there.

' A ding door ditch? In December?' He sighed another time. Mark was about to walk away when another bang resounded around the entryway. ' What the-.' Mark spun around, turned the knob, and slammed the door open.

There stood a bloody and beaten man in an almost white pristine doctor's coat, if only it didn't have tears, dirt, and blood clinging to it. He had his arm up in ready to knock on the door. He was panting and his chest was rising in spasms, as if it was a pain to breathe.

" What the hell? Who are you?" Mark asked in a slightly raised voice.

" My name is Dr. Steven Greene," Steven coughed, making his whole body tremble.

"I'm part of the division J27, where we've actively been experimenting on human beings since 2002. We've been seeing how the brain will try to protect its host. We haven't been successful; until recently. Labrat 305 has passed all the tests but now they have broken out of containment. They murdered everyone. Your job Agent Mark is to report this to the government, as this was an authorized experiment. I realize you are one of the officers assigned to help us. So help us. Me and my comrades can't because all communication was cut off from the building, and the majority has passed by now." Steven took a deep shuddering breath after the ramble.

He breathed in slightly for a second when he broke out into a coughing fit. Mark held onto his arm to steady him. " Let's get you inside." Mark said, trying to pull the poor doctor into his home.

Doctor Greene collapsed right then, almost pulling Mark down with him. Mark rushed to the ground to pick him up, but before he could, Dr. Greene pushed something into his hands and then pushed him away towards the door, before taking one last shuddering breath. He was gone before Mark's eyes.

What a terrible tragedy.
