Reinhardt smiled slightly at the sleeping form of Elysia on his bed. How long has it been since they last met? Who would have known that this woman would be an important part of his life?

It was after several hours from the family dinner with friends and now, he was just finishing some reports about the completion of Rin's training and she will now be a junior knight of house Crozzo at the age of 12.

While he would never allow anyone other than his brothers and Rin inside his room, Elysia would just find ways to get in. Annoyed by this, he just gave her a key and he never expected that she would use that as a sign to take his room as hers.

So focused on his work, he did not notice that Elysia woke up and approached him. Dainty hands found their way on his shoulders as the pink-haired woman sat by his side.

"Not gonna sleep yet?" Yawning, the young woman rested her head on his shoulder

"I have some things to finish." The young man said, ignoring the weight on his shoulder.

"What for?" Asked a curious Elysia, hugging one of his pillows as she rested while leaning on his side.

"Some paperwork for House Crozzo, Training and equipment, supplies, and Rin's knighthood ceremony." The knight explained as he moved with ease and grace as he worked.

"Sounds boring, glad to see I did not become a leader." The young woman said as she looked down at herself. She was dressed in an oversized button-up, that belonged to Rein, reaching to the middle of her thighs. Her pink hair was loose and a bit messy, while her blue eyes showed a spark of curiosity and tiredness.

"True, but it's my responsibility." Rein told her as he signed several documents.

Having nothing else to do, Elysia stretched lightly before standing up.

"?" Reinhardt looked at his partner from the corner of his eyes before he saw her sit on his chair's armrest.

"I'll help you, just cuddle with me later." Elysia offered and before the knight can refuse, she already took a stack of papers and looked over them.

'Women,' Thought Reinhardt with a sigh.

Ten years ago

A young teenage Reinhardt walked beside his father and mentor. Dressed in simple clothes with a sword and dagger sheathed on his belt, the father and son calmly walked with each other. While his father had black hair just like him, Reinhardt inherited his mother's dark grey eyes.

"Father, why do I need to find a new partner? Isn't Kallen available?" The young Reinhardt asked as he followed his father.

"Well, son. While the Kaslana and Crozzo families are close and our styles do complement each other, we do not have to limit ourselves." His father explained as the two walked with each other.

"Oh... but who is my partner?" Reinhardt asked as he held the handle of his sword once they approached several intersecting hallways.

"A child of an old friend. The two of you will hopefully get along." His father said with a smile as they arrived in front of a door.

Dark eyes widened as he saw a young girl, a woman around his age with pink hair. She danced with her bow, showing an unnatural amount of skill as she made bold and arrogant maneuvers that any lesser archer would never be able to do. Moving swiftly as he saw something, the young knight jumped over the balcony and kicked off the wall. Landing in front of her back, the young man drew and batted a simulated enemy away from her back.

"Focus," Reinhardt told her. Dark grey eyes met with widened blue, not a moment later, Elysia had shot arrows as he took care of anything that she did not shoot.
