After the incident with the skeleton, Trent mined some iron that he found on the wall of the cave, and headed deeper into the forest. When night fell, Trent still hadn't made a house yet so he started chopping down trees nearby. For every log that he chopped, Trent was able to make four wooden planks. He laid down the wood on the ground and started attaching the walls. Expecting the walls to fall, Trent braced them with another plank and went to mine some stones for a more upgraded wall. While he was away, a cow bumped the plank that was holding the wall in place and nocked it over. Strangely, the walls stayed in place.
Meanwhile, Trent was progressively taking stones from the wall of the cave and adding them to his knapsack. He got quite a few cobblestones and turned back to the entrance. Standing there was a tall man with the same mark that Trent had on his forehead, only the man's was on his right hand. Trent stared at the man all over, then when the man stepped forward, he disappeared into a purple dust that disintegrated on impact of the rocky floor, like snowflakes. Trent wondered if it was just an illusion or if the man really did exist.
Later, Trent returned and saw the wall staying in place. He looked at the wall then went over to it and gave it a little nudge. It stayed firm.
Trent was interested for a second, then walked into his house and started working at his crafting table. He made a wooden door, and a furnace which he used to smelt some sand into glass therefore creating windows. His house was about five meters by four meters with a wooden floor and a stone roof. It had a wooden door in the corner and three glass windows. Trent was proud of his new home which he intended to upgrade. He went outside and found a sheep cloaked in a woolly coat which Trent used to make a soft bed. He ate some pork chops, and went to sleep.
Bright and early in the morning, Trent awoke with a cheerful start and started to the front door of his house to go mining. About halfway to his mine, Trent noticed someone watching him. It was a woman about his age, with short brown hair, and bright blue eyes. She wore an emerald green shirt, with tan pants and high grey boots. Her face and arms were spotless compared to his. Trent was worried that she was just another illusion, but then she spoke with a voice so soft and quiet that it sounded like the flow of the ocean.
"Do you live alone?" She asked as she turned her head to Trent's house.
He nodded, relieved that she wasn't just a figment of his imagination.
"Then you won't survive a week in this place. Maybe a few days, but not a week".
"I know,"he laughed, "I've already had some close encounters."
"If you would like, you can come stay with me and my brother. But you look like you're doing well on your own." The girl suggested." We live on the far side of the woods, near the hills. You can't miss it."
Trent still hardly knew the girl and wondered if it would be wise to follow. But he did nonetheless. He caught up to her and asked her what her name was. She said her name was Leah.
"So what's your brother like?"he asked.
"He's really creative, he picked the perfect spot for our house and he's done a pretty good job building it."she mentioned."It's got lots of room and a perfect view of the ocean. He said that there's plenty of room to expand and we've got lots of materials."
They passed by a low hill as they walked to Leah's home and Trent finally saw it. It was a huge sandstone building with so many decorations. There was a window every two meters on the bottom floor, each two meters long, and stained in a light blue dye. It had a lower part on the shore of a vast ocean, and one part raised up above the sea. It had an outdoor swimming pool with a glass fence surrounding it, and a ship out in the bay, that looked as if it were only used for parties.
"Well don't just stand there with your mouth hanging open, let's go!" Leah rushed to another small hill with Trent following from a short distance. She walked behind it and opened a trapdoor, winked at Trent and crawled in.
