Trent sat there with his mouth wide open. Mark rushed to where he last saw them and slammed his fist against the eye. Trent watched while Mark laid with his shoulders shaking. The endermen had taken his sister, and he knew why. It was being controlled by Ender, since an endermen was too merciless not to kill something. Mark started back inside and Trent followed close behind.
He headed to the big map by the kitchen and didn't get a surprise when he saw that it had been ripped. Trent looked carefully at the map and noticed that the letters were all scrambled up. The H was in the top left corner, the E was in the bottom left corner, the L was in the top right corner, an the P was in the bottom right corner.
Trent couldn't make any sense of it and wondered if there was any information in the research lab. He slowly sneaked away and down the stairs. He got confused at the passcode and remembered that the word spelt END so he tried 3, 6, 3. The iron door unlocked and opened into the room with the map on the table, and the pictures on the wall. He searched the paintings for anything that would help him find Leah. He saw one with the picture of an old man. "Monty?" Trent wondered. Then it dawned on him that they should visit him and see if he has any answers.
"Mark," Trent walked up to him with a backpack full of supplies. "We should leave to Monty's and get some answers." Mark gave a slight nod and turned to the door without a word. They had to trek for several days without sleep since Trent forgot to take their hammocks. With a few monster problems and a half hour of hunting, they managed to make it to the mountains. Trent kept thinking that he heard footsteps behind him, but didn't see anything. When they saw the mountains, Trent gaped in awe as he looked at the humongous stone peaks and marvellous caverns. It reminded him of the time when he first saw Leah and Mark's house. They came to the foot of a cliff and started climbing up. They reached the first cave and had a shootout with a few skeletons. Trent looked deeper into the cave and saw a person. Only this guy had green, scaly skin and no arms. It looked as if it had a permanent frown and four alternately moving legs. Trent took a good 5 steps back as the monster came closer.
"Dang it, that's a creeper." Mark noticed the monster and held his sword tightly. The beast headed towards the entrance of the cave. It had its eyes set on Trent.
"Well," he yelled at Mark who was doing nothing but watching. "Aren't you gonna help me?" He backed off the side of the mountain and dug a hole a few meters deep and 3 meters in diameter.
Mark shook his head and said, "you can defeat him on your own. Just be prepared for any surprises or such." When the creeper finally got to the pit it stopped. Trent stopped to. The creeper looked at the hole, then back at Trent who was standing there waiting for a surprise. The creeper was smarter than most monsters so he kept staring into Trent's big, brown eyes, and trotted around the hole coming back towards Trent. It was only until he'd run a good 90 meters that Trent realized that the monster was not following him anymore. In fact, the creeper was nowhere to be seen. All that was seen was Mark standing over a large crater. Trent walked over to him and joined him in seeing a cave. Only one wall looked like a bunch of broken stones with moss running through the cracks.
"See that?" Mark said pointing at the mossy cobbles. "That's a dungeon. You see, a dungeon is a small room with a bunch of loot inside. One of those was where I got all that treasure back home." Trent was very eager to go inside so that he could get some of his own gold. But seeing that Trent was so excited, Mark gave him some more information. "But the downside is that inside lies a monster spawner. Usually for zombies or skeletons. Break one of those, and the loot will be free."
They jumped in the hole and looked at each other. Then Mark mined the moss stone and a single arrow came flying out behind it. It must've been a skeleton one. Trent remembered when he was almost killed by a skeleton but that was only one. Mark busted the cobbles under the hole and rushed inside with an iron sword at hand. Trent went in after him and saw that the room was filled with at least 5 skeletons all with a bow. Trent rushed to kill one and struck a hit. By the time he killed one, Mark had already killed three. Soon the spawner slowed giving them an opportunity to catch up to the skeletons.
"Break the spawner!" Mark yelled at Trent while deflecting an arrow.
"I don't have a pick!" He yelled back.
Mark finished off the skeleton he was fighting and went to break it. When he got there, a skeleton spawned right behind him and started shooting at Trent. But this one had bones made of pure gold and its bow was glowing a purple haze. Trent tried to slice its head off but his sword vibrated and hurt his hands. Mark got the spawner destroyed and was now focused on the golden skeleton. He searched for somewhere not gold and saw one in the middle of its spinal cord. He struck the undead man with his sword and it fell to the ground. Mark lunged his sword through the bone destroying it. They were free to take the treasure.-----------------------------
