JOEL MILLER WOKE THAT EARLY SUMMER morning with a gasp unexpected banging came from his front door, thankfully disturbing his nightmares. It had been twenty years since outbreak day, and he still wasn't over the heart break that happened that night. "I'm coming," he huffed as the banging started again, he let out a huff as he opened the door, revealing Tess.

"How was your morning?" questioned Tess as she instantly went towards Joel's whiskey. "Want one?"

"No. I don't... want one," replied Joel.

"Well, I have some interesting news for you," Tess started, glancing around. "Where's Finn? You know how she gets if we leave her out."

"She's only thirteen, she doesn't need to he involved in whatever you're going to tell me," Joel rolled his eyes.

"She doesn't need to be, but she wants to," said Tess. "Would you prefer her running around on her own? Or with us who can keep her safe? Not that we need to, she can hold herself better than you," she teases.

Joel huffed which was enough for Tess to know he agreed with her. "She's still asleep. I'll wake her up once you tell me where the hell you where?"

"West End disrcit," replied Tess. "Hey, we had a drop to make."

"We," says Joel, walking closer to the women. "We had a drop to make."

"Yeah, well, you wanted to be left alone remember?" said Tess as she lifted a cloth up to her face wound.

"So. I'll take one guess," started Joel. "The whole deal went south, and the Client made off with our pills. Is that about right?"

Tess laughed sarcastically. "Deal went off without a hitch. Enouth ration cars to last us a couple of months easy."

"You want to explain this," Joel pointed at her wound.

"I was on my way back here, and I got jumped by these two assholes, alright?" Tess explained. "Yeah, they git a few good hits in. But... Look. I managed."

"Gimme that," Joel huffed, taking the cloth from Tess, placing his hand on her chin and tilting her face up so he could clean the cut. "Are these assholes still with us?"

Tess let out a small laugh. "Now that's funny."

"Did you atleast find out who they were?"
