20. NEW LIFE

In evening, whole royal family was together. "Humari Rajkumari Priya ki ichha anusaar Streeo (ladies) ka rajya ke karya (work) mein haath bataane (to help) ko lekar humne apna antim nirnay (final decision) le lia hai." announced Supriya getting everyone's attention. All looked at her attentively. "Humne ye nirnay liya hai ki hum humare parivaar ki saari Sunbai aur Rajya ki jitni bhi streea hai un sab ko Rajya ke karya aur padai likhai ke lie parvangi (permission) dete hai." announced Supriya.

All got happy and excited listening to her. "Hume apni baat poori krne dijie." ordered Supriya. All got quite quickly. "Humari do baatein aapko maanni hongi. Aap sab Sunbaio ko achhe se yaad hai na ki aaj subah humare kaksh mein kya baatein hui?" asked Supriya. "Kya hua ma?" asked Siddharth curiously. "Maharaj Siddharth aap Raj darbaar mein kya baatein krte hai, humne aapse kabhi poochha? Issi prakaar streeo ki beech hazaaro baatein hoti hai. Wo hum aapko batana awashayak nahi samajte. Aap Maharaj hai hum maante hai kintu streeo ki baatein jaanna aapke lie zaroori nhi hai." said Supriya with a sarcastic smile making other brothers and sunbais laugh silently while Siddharth rubbed back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Theek hai. Theek hai. Bohot hass lia aap logo ne. Ab hamare prashan ka uttar dijie." asked Supriya again. "Ji ma sab yaad hai." replied Vaishnavi on everyone's behalf. "To uss baat ko sadev yaad rakhiega. Kyuki har ghar ka maan sammaan (respect) uss ghar ki stree ke haath mein hota hai. Ab uss maan samman ko ussi prakar kayam rakhna hai, aur badana hai ya khatam kar dena hai ghar ki stree par nirbhar (depend) karta hai. Aur phir aap to iss Raj gharane ki Sunbai hai. Saari praja ki streea aapko apna pratima (idol) maanti hai. Aur hum aap logo ko jitna marzi daant le kintu ye kbhi nahi chahenge ki hamari kisi bhi Sunbai ya hamare parivaar ke kisi bhi sadasya (member) par koi bahar wala ungli uthaye. Islie to hamari subah wali baatein maanenge tab to hum aapko parvangi de denge." said Supriya.

All Sunbais looked at each other and then Supriya. Vaishnavi nodded her head. "Aur doosri baat. Ab Rajya ke kaam aap sambhalenge. Achha hai. Poora dhyaan dena hoga. Bilkul theek. Kintu ye yaad rakhiega ki yadi aapko hum wo kaam karne de rahe hai to iska arth (meaning) hai ki aap jo ab apne ghar ke kaam karti hai wo nhi karne padenge. Wo kaam aapko karne hi honge. Baari baari se kijie ya jaise aapko achha lage. Rajya ke kaam kijie hum aapko rokenge nahi kintu ghar sansaar to aapko sambhalna hi hoga. Jab tak stree apne ghar ki rasoi samabhalti hai tab hi ghar mein unnati (betterment). Tabhi ghar ke saare sadasya khushi se rehte hai. Jab stree apne haath se prem ke saath khana banakar parosti hai. To yadi hamari ye do baatein aap sab manengi to hum aapko parvaangi dete hai. Aur yadi hume kabhi aane wale samey mein aesa laga ki aap log apne inn dono baato ko nahi mana hum aapka phir se Rajya ke kaam mein haath bataana band karwa denge." stated Supriya.

All Sunbais agreed to Supriya as this is really big thing that she agreed. It's a really huge step she took. "To kal subah darbaar ke baad hum chahenge ki mantrio ke jaane ke theek baad aap sab Sunbai waha aa jae taaki hum aapko aapke kaam achhe se samjha sake." ordered Abhishek. They all left for their work.

At night Nihar went to to Tisha's room. She was setting her bed to sleep. Nihar went to her. "Tisha" said Nihar to get her attention. She immediately stood straight and touched his feet. "Rajkumar Nihar koi awashayak karya? Aap iss samay yha?" asked Tisha bowing her head. Nihar made her sit on bed and sat in front of her. She was looking at her lap. He made her look at him by raising her chin. "Bohot awashayak karya hai." said Nihar looking into her beautiful eyes. "Kya?" asked Tisha. "Aapse kshama (apology) maangne aaye hai. Poori baat jaane bina hi humne aapko itna sunaya. Aapke upar itna chillaye. Hum aapse iss baat pe nahi gussa the ki aapne Jannat ke saath jhagda kia. Hume gussa iss lie aaya kyuki humne apne shishu ke baare mein ye sab suna. Kintu hume aapki baat bhi ek baar sun leni chahie thi." apologized Nihar.

"Aapki kya galati hai? Hum hi the jo uss ajanme (unborn) shishu ko ye sab bol rahe ho. Wo to abhi iss duniya mein bhi nahi aaya. Aur hum usse nafrat kar rhe the. Hume to khud par lajja aa rahi thi. Hum maante hai hume bura laga ki hum aapki pehli patni hai kintu Jannat humse pehle maa banne wali hai. Hume gussa bhi aa rha tha, dukh bhi ho rha tha. Kintu uss shishu ki kya galati. Wo to abhi apni maa ki garab mein hi hai. Ho sake to hume kshama kar dijie." apologized Tisha with tears. Nihar pulled her in a hug and rubbed her back and they spent their night beautifully.

Next morning

All Sunbais went to darbaar according to Abhishek's order. Siddharth on advice of his brothers divided the work. Siddharth and Avneet were going to handle administrative works. Abhishek and Vaishnavi were going to handle financial works. Other sunbais and common girls from public were free to join whichever are they liked. "Dekhiye hum abhi aap sabko yudh ke lie nahi bhejenge. Aur Rajkumar Ridham aur Sunbai Anushka. Hum chahte hai aap iss rajya ki har beti aur bahu chahe wo raj gharane ki hai ya praja. Un sabko atma raksha (selfe defense) karna sikhaye. Waise Rajya ke har kone mein hamare sipahi hai parantu hum chahte hai hamari har beti bahu apni raksha sawayam kar sake. Naaki kisiki taraf usse dekhna pade apni raksha ke liye." stated Siddharth.

After few months

Jannat was in labour. Midwives were doing her delivery. All were waiting outisde her room. Suddenly Jannat's cries and screams stopped. Everyone's heart was beating at fast rate. One of the midwife came out with a smile. "Badhai ho Rajkumar Nihar aap pita ban gaye hai. Sunbai Jannat ne putari (daughter) ko janam dia hai. Everyone was happy except Surbhi. She was happy but not as much as she was all these months. Nihar was extremely happy. Siddharth took out a chain out of her neck and handed it to the midwife. "Maharaj Siddharth ki jai ho." exclaimed midwife happily.

In few minutes. Other midwife brought the baby girl. Nihar got tears in his eyes seeing her. He kissed her forhead. Baby smiled feeling her father's touch. He kept his trembling hand on her head.

Everything was going well in kingdom. Many women had join in works related to kingdom and had started getting education. Kingdom was getting even more profits than before.

Days passed. All were really happy with new member they had. Tisha accepted her slowly. Though she never loved Jannat but never showed hatred to her child. Now everyone was eagerly waiting for Avneet to give birth. Finally one morning she felt sharp pain in her stomach. Midwives were called. And she gave birth to a boy.

Kingdom kept getting stronger and better generation after generation with new emerging thoughts and ideas from young minds.

Sunbais never loved each other. They used have problems often but they used to sort them on their own and never bother their husbands. Their disliking towards each other was completely justified. No woman will like the fact that her husband has another woman. But they never even let an outisider to raise a finger against their kingdom. That's how they accepted their fate over time and learned to live with it and never let their family or kingdom's respect defame as told by their mother-in-law.
