bruce did as the other boy had said and met him at the back of the school again. as expected, the other boy was still there. did he ever move? god, sitting there for eight hours doing nothing? bruce wondered why he'd rather do that than go to class, but then again, bruce really liked his classes. "finally, fucking took you long enough." vance complained, knocking bruce out of his thoughts. "what do you mean? class got out five minutes ago! it's not my fault you had to wait because you didnt go." he rolled his eyes. "whatever, lets go. i don't wanna spend another minute in this shithole." vance started walking, bruce following close behind. "can i ask you a question?" bruce asked, glancing over at him.

"you just did," vance hummed, and bruce just ignored him. "why do you even come to school if youre gonna skip all day? i don't think i've ever seen you in class." he messed with a string on his backpack. "you're crazy if you think my dad would let me stay home." he laughed dryly. "but— dont they call your parents when you skip?"

"yeah, my dad doesnt check his phone. and my mom tried to get me to attend my classes for a while, but i think she gave up." bruce mutters a small 'oh', he couldn't imagine how his parents would react if he missed one class. then, that got him thinking. maybe he should start missing his classes. but then again, he wouldnt want to upset them too—
thump. bruce blinked, looking at vance again, who he just ran into. "watch it, dipshit." he pushed bruce away. "sorry, i zoned out." vance rolled his eyes. "i noticed. you tend to do that a lot. anyways, we're here." vance went up the stairs and opened the door. tend to do that a lot? what does he mean by that? bruce was very attentive, actually. he rarely—

"yo, you coming?" oh. "sorry-" thats what he meant. he quickly went up the stairs and followed him inside. once he was inside, he looked around the house. it was small, especially in comparison to his own. there was a small kitchen table with three chairs around it, although only table mats at two, the third looked as if no one had sat in it in years. the living room had a little couch and a recliner beside it. there were a couple plates on a coffee table, on the other side of the recliner. "are you hungry?" the other boy spoke up, making bruce flinch. "uhm, no thanks." he shook his head. "alright, suit yourself." vance grabbed a bag of chips out of the cupboard. "lets head over to my room." he went into his room, bruce following practically on his heels.

bruce stood awkwardly in the room as vance plopped himself down on his bed. he looked around vance' room. it was messy to say the least. there was a black electric guitar in the corner and a skateboard beside it. there were random posters on the wall, vance's music taste wandered from nirvana to odd sweetheart — vance didnt strike bruce as someone who would like odd sweetheart. his music taste was.. different from bruce's. he kept looking around the room, until his gaze meant vance's, who was infact staring. "what?" why was he staring? was vance judging him? bruce bit down on his lip. he felt— nervous? no, vulnerable. he felt vulnerable under his gaze.

vance cleared his throat. "oh- um—" bruce noticed the pink tint crossing vances cheeks. "i was just about to ask you if you're gonna sit down or keep standing there like a dumbass." he said quickly, crossing his arms. "i wasnt staring." he murmurs, not loud enough for bruce to hear. "right, sorry." he took a seat next to vance. "anyways," bruce started. "there isnt really much to go over.. uhm, we dont have to be affectionate in private—" vance interrupted him, he seems to do that a lot. "yeah, no fucking shit." bruce inhaled. "let me finish." he said with a smile, although his tone had a hint of annoyance. "you need to have dinner with my parents and i atleast once a week. they'll expect it and we need to really sell it."

"and what if that doesn't work for my schedule?"
"make it work. i'm sure your pinball machine isnt gonna die while you're gone." vance glared. "i have other things going on in my life, you know." bruce raised a brow. "really? cause you're like always there." vance narrowed his eyes. "you're an awfully controlling boyfriend," he huffed. "well, last time i checked, this was a plan i made up to help myself. so, yes, i'm controlling i need things to go correctly, vance." vance shrugged. "is that everything we need to go over?"

"is there anything that you want to add?" he looked at vance. "nah." bruce nodded and let his gaze wander around the room again. he tapped his fingers on his thighs. he wasnt really surprised about how the room looked. it definitely looked like vance. "whatcha thinkin' about?" vance had scooted next to bruce, trying to pinpoint where his gaze was. "gah—" bruce scooted away. "i was just looking at the guitar. you play?" he regretted his words after he spoke, he knew a sarcastic reply was coming. "no, i just spent one-hundred dollars on a guitar for the fun of it."

bruce rolled his eyes. "i hope you know you're not funny. anyways, i've wanted to learn for a while. my parents dont want me playing, though." he sighed. "oh, well, since you're my boyfriend now.. i could always give you some free lessons." vance grinned. it was weird to see. it wasnt a cocky smirk, just a grin. not a genuine smile by any means, and he still looked cocky, but it was close. "you'd do that?" he couldnt help a smile. "oh, what wouldnt i do for my beloved?" now, he was smirking. bruce glared and flicked him. "what part of 'not being affectionate in private' didnt click?" vance stood up with huff. "not likin my love?" he frowned and grabbed his guitar. "no, not at all."

vance rolled his eyes and sat beside bruce. he checked to make sure it was in tune. "okay, watch." he strummed softly, playing a couple chords. "just like that, okay? now you give it a try." he handed it over to bruce. he started to get it set up before trying to mimic what vance had done. vance winced as he started playing. "you're definitely making noise!" he held up a thumbs up. bruce shot him a glare, but all that did was get a quiet chuckle from vance.

he scooted closer to the other boy and wrapped his arms around him, putting his hands on top of bruce's. bruce feels his face heat up. he swallowed dryly. "alright, i'll guide you, okay?" vance's voice is low, and his breath is hot against his neck. bruce nodded slowly. vance guided his fingers as he said he would, and before bruce knew it, he let go and moved away. he tried his best to keep playing, but he was distracted. he stopped after a couple minutes. "that was good!" vance said. he actually sounds sincere for once. bruce cant help a smile. "thanks, vance."

"no problem." theres that grin again. "i'm gonna go get a glass of water, you want anything?" bruce shook his head. vance nodded in reply, he stood up and left the room, leaving a flustered and confused bruce alone with his thoughts.
