Kevin POV
"Another day, another slay" is the first thing I heard from my girlfriend when I walked inside the school building. It's been a couple weeks since school started and she's been saying it since the first day. It got a little annoying after the third week, but I hate seeing her upset, even more if I'm the one who hurt her feelings. I let the phrase slide, since it's just that, a phrase. After all, I'd rather not have her angry at me like yesterday.
I go in to kiss her forehead, which she blocks with an "Oh my God, Kevin. What are you doing? That's so embarrassing" I've gotta remember that she doesn't like that, I can't make that mistake again.
I see a lot of people following me from my rear view, I'm used to it by now so I don't mind. Plus, interacting with people isn't that bad. I go fetch my books in my locker, and I notice a new student following close behind. I heard the teacher say something along the lines of a new transfer student yesterday, but my girlfriend was talking about her favorite tv show and she wouldn't want me to be listening to someone else while she's telling me something important.
I grab my books and look at him for a minute, while I hear my girlfriend in the back talking about some special date or something. I hear him mutter "I need to go to AP chem, I need to go to AP chem, I need to go to AP chem...". Seems like he doesn't know where to go, and my curiosity got the best of me. I need to go in that direction anyway, so... I might as well, right?
—"Hi, do you know where you're going? Oh, don't mind me asking of course. You looked really worried about something and you seem to be new here. At least I've never seen you before."—
—"Oh... yeah. It's j-just that I... I...need to like uhm- I need to go to a class. I-It's called AP chemistry. Do you know where that is...?—
—"Of course I know! I'll take you there, no worries dude"—
I looked behind me and see my girlfriend wearing her signature mad face. Yikes, this is bad. I've gotta get out of here. I winked at her as if to signal "I'm just gonna help him, relax love" but I don't think she got it. Either way I've gotta go before this gets out of hand, so I decided to ignore her behavior for now.
I didn't realize how far AP chemistry really was, I thought it was in the building next door but I was sorely mistaken. I decided to go with him instead of giving him directions, since my girlfriend always tells me that I'm bad at giving and taking instructions. He gave me some sort of nervously puzzled look. I led it slide. Plus, walking is a good workout to help me tone my calves.
I led him to his class, and he thanked me in a very awkward manner. Now that I take a good look at him, he's rather short isn't he? He's also got a good face. I haven't seen a redhead in a while. I waved to the teachers and students present in the class, I don't know any of them but still, being friendly doesn't cost me anything.
"I'd be happy to show him around" after such an exchange, I left to head to my first class. Talking about classes, AP chemistry is a really hard one, he must be really smart. I'm barely managing to survive on regular chemistry. Thank the heavens above to whoever gave me my athletic abilities.
