Chapter 4: Mezmerized

Kevin  POV

The lake looked so mesmerizing, like always. The subtle smell of grass and nature, the dragon flies swarming the swamp, the way the sky reflected on the greenish waters of the lake. It all just pulled me in. Some would say the lake looks rather deteriorated, and I won't deny the fact that it's not in its best condition. But to me, it's just perfect. I don't need the lake to look picturesque or magnificently perfect. The beauty of this lake is found in its not so beautiful exterior. The peace this place has brought me makes it more beautiful than any other lake in a museum art piece.

I'm not entirely sure why I brought him here, I just thought he looked a little troubled. I'm not good when it comes to cheering people up if they're feeling sad, so I just thought bringing him here was the best thing I could do for him. I doubt it worked though, he looks like he's seen a ghost. I let it slide, it's alright after all. As long as he's able to feel at peace later.

—"My name is Jayden, Nice to meet you."—

His name is Jayden huh... That's a cute name. I'm not sure why, but something about him drew me in and made me continue staring. Now that I look at him, his hair looks so soft. I'd love to touch and mess around with it. It would probably look really good in braids...

My mental alarm rang and I checked my phone. Oh shit, it's time for practice. If I'm late again coach will make me run ten laps, which Id like to avoid at all cost.

—"Jayden huh? Nice name. Well then, if you need anything let me know. I'd love to help you out with anything, don't ever hesitate."—

I was about to start running, but I wouldn't want the weeds to get damaged because I stepped on them too hard, so I took my time until I finally reached pavement. Luckily, I was able to run fast enough, making it just in time for practice.

I can't seem to get the sight of him looking at the lake out of my mind. Did he like it? Was he as mesmerized as I was? I'll have to ask him next time I see him.

~~

—"Dalianne, my love, please forgive me for yesterday. I didn't mean it and you know it, c'mon."

My girlfriend Dalianne cares about me very much, which I'm very thankful for. She can be a bit of a handful at times, but that won't change the love I have for her. She's still mad at me for ditching her yesterday, I've gotta stop being so inconsiderate of her feelings.

—"I'll think about it, just go to practice for the love of God."—

When this happens, it's best if I just give her some time. I can't let this get me down though, last time I didn't give my all during practice coach made me stay an hour extra so I could make up for the "remaining 55% you didn't bring to todays practice".
