Chapter Nineteen

Anthony was currently sitting alone in his classroom at his desk. He was looking down at a piece of paper, a letter that he had gotten from Princess Sarah. After his visit to the museum and learning about the Lake Guardians, he had sent a secret letter to Sarah to let her know about what he had learned, tell her that the three Legendary Pokemon were real, and that they had seen Mesprit when she was visiting him and his friends at the Twinleaf Festival earlier that year. He also asked her if she had any ideas as to why Mesprit showed itself to them and what it could mean. He looked down at the words that were written on the paper.

Dear Anthony,

I always enjoy hearing from you. After receiving your letter, I went to the palace library to do some more research. It is said that Mesprit reveals itself to people who have a strong bond or connection with one another. Maybe Mesprit revealed itself to us because it sensed the connection between us. Let me explain what I mean by that.

Anthony, you have always treated me like a regular girl instead of a Princess. You make me really happy when I'm around you. You go out of your way to make sure that I'm okay and happy…never wanting to see me upset. You always do whatever you can to keep a smile on my face. I mean, your Christmas gift was remarkable and something that I'll never forget. I was able to experience a gift that didn't even have a price, as you put it. I will forever cherish that memory. And whenever something is troubling me, you always talk to me about it and help me sort out my feelings. That's one of my favorite things about you, Anthony…you do whatever you can to make me and our friends happy…you're so caring.

So I believe the reason that Mesprit revealed itself to us is because if you think about what was going on during that time, we had an emotional moment. I was upset about my family and my future and you were trying to cheer me up and make me feel better by putting things into perspective. You were offering me compassion and comfort and since Mesprit is the Emotion Pokemon, it sensed our emotions and feelings…the bond between us.

Thank you for telling me what you learned. What you wrote to me really peaked my interest. I hope that this helps you in understanding what happened. Write to me anytime that you want and I hope that I can visit you and the others soon.

Anthony stared at the letter after he finished reading it.

Mesprit sensed our connection and showed itself to us. I wonder if this proves that she feels the same way about me that I feel about her? Maybe it does…wouldn't that be something? Anthony thought.

He quickly hid the letter in his desk as his friends walked into the room, who noticed him.

"Hey!" they greeted as they took their seats.

"You're here early." Melissa commented.

"My dad had a meeting to go to." Anthony replied, which wasn't a full lie. His dad did have a meeting, but he had decided to go to the classroom to read his letter in private instead of finding his friends. If they saw him reading it, they would ask questions and maybe find out about Mesprit, which he and Sarah had agreed to keep secret.

Alex and Julia handed their friends invitations for their birthdays, which were in two weeks' time.

"We were born in the same year, but only a few days apart." Alex explained.

"And these are our first birthdays since becoming brother and sister. We've decided to have one big birthday party together for both of us." Julia added.
