the omega had already seen kpop concerts in his life. whether it was live or in his living room – cuddled between his sister and hawoon – he had seen groups of boys and girls dancing super energetically in front of hundreds of fans, and he had to admit, it was impressive.

however, he had always thought that this energy and passion that the artists transmitted when they were in a concert was energy that they kept bloated in just for the concert, thus having calm practices during which they made sure everybody knew the move. oh, jokes on him...

shotaro was currently sitting in the giant dance room that was nct's training place, and he had to admit that his inner omega felt rather threatened by the sight.

the 22 neos were on the dancefloor, dancing to the music of their latest song without missing a single beat. they were singing or rapping, their visuals and facial expressions on fleek, and stomping their feet to the point the floor trembled. they were all moving with such power and emotion that their pheromones had taken over the room, causing the poor omega who was seated on one of the benches in front of them to cough and feel dizzy.

and if this wasn't enough already, the fact all the nct members – with no exception – successfully looked into shotaro's eyes while dancing or singing their lines sure knew how to make the omega flush beet red – even after 24 hours of living with nct, the boy couldn't hide his shyness and embarrassment.

"okay, guys!" the choreographer clapped his hands once the song came to an end. "five-minute break and we're back to dancing!"

the boys didn't need a second warning to stop what they were doing.

a few of them ran out of the practice room, surely to head to the bathroom or to grab something to eat really quick, and the remaining members stayed in the practice room to drink from their bottles.

inevitably, a few boys walked to shotaro and took a sit next to him.

"i hope staring at us dancing isn't too boring for you." taeil stated, looking at the omega.

"n-no, of course not." shotaro answered immediately. "it's impressive actually."

"oh really? how do we impress you?" xaojun joined the conversation, seated on the other side of shotaro.

"well..." the omega thought for a second. "y-you guys are all synchronised, and your moves are very p-powerful... oh, a-and... and sometimes you look at m-me... and y-you are s-scary a-and make me n-nervous..."

"aww..." taeil cooed, chuckling at the boy. "you're cute, shotaro." he added, pinching shotaro's cheek between his fingers and making them become red – their colouring was more due to the fact shotaro was shy rather than the grip taeil had on his cheek.

"s-sorry?!" the omega let out a strangled noise.

"he said you were cute. and he's not wrong." xiaojun specified, making the already red boy flush brighter.

"t-thanks i g-guess..." he stuttered.

"no need to thank us for stating the truth." taeil patted shotaro's head gently. "all of us agree on that."

"guys! break is almost over! come back in place!" the choreographer's voice rang across the training room, making the neos stand up and go to the centre of the room in formation.

shotaro used this precious time when he was alone to calm his erratic heart down and take deep breaths while the alpha pheromones in the air weren't suffocating. it was only his second day with nct, and he had already had almost five heart attacks and nearly fainted a dozen of times. he wasn't exactly sure that living with them for a whole week wouldn't kill him – emotionally speaking, of course.
