All hell broke loose. That's how I would describe what happened after Sam uttered those words. But, before that there was absolute silence.
Leah was silent, she didn't say a word but her body was tense because I could feel it. Her fingers at the nap of my neck stopped moving in circles. Farah and Cole were looking between Leah, Sam and me with fire coming out of their eyes. Craig didn't move, neither did Kathy and Emilia. Only Leo started walking toward the villa, his shoulders looked tense as he marched ahead without looking back at us.
Mike stood there with a side smile on his face, he looked amused. Of course, he would. He must have planned this with Sam. Jane was the first to break the silence.
"I can't believe you're actually doing this." She said to Mike, as she walked to him.
Mike threw his hands in the air, "What did I do, now?" he said, obviously feigning innocence. Jane didn't even look at him as she walked past him following Leo's steps.
"Come on baby!" Mike called after her, but he didn't follow her. He just stood there watching after her and when she disappeared into the backyard he looked back at us.
"So what do you say, Leah?" Sam asked, looking at Leah with a side smile.
Leah stood up and walked steady toward Sam. She came to a halt a few steps from him. Her eyes were on him but her expression wasn't readable.
"How about you fuck off!" Leah told Sam in a flat and cool tone.
The side smile disappeared from Sam's face as his eyes moved from Leah to me, then back to Leah.
"Come on! It's just a bet," He said, "I promise you that we'll have fun." he added, putting his hand on Leah's shoulder.
Leah pushed his hand away and walked back a few steps away from him.
"This is the last time you put your hand on me and I am not a fucking bet. I told you over and over again that I don't want to spend any fucking amount of time with you." Leah sneered
I managed to pull myself up, still pressing the ice bag on my nose. Cole was right beside me as I walked to Leah.
"Is it because of this boy?" Sam said with a smile on his face, pointing a finger at me as I stood next to Leah.
"Put your finger down." I told him
Sam started laughing as he looked at Mike who was smiling. I kept my eyes fixed on Sam. He looked at us for a short while before he threw his hands in the air.
"Come on guys! It's just a game. You lost and we won. A bet is a bet."
"You heard her! She said no and she clearly told you that she is not a bet." I told him, trying to control myself. Leah was tense beside me.
"Come on boy! What are you afraid of? I won't steal her from you." Sam said with a huge smile on his face. Mike was chuckling. Leah walked the few steps separating her from Sam and pushed him. I tried to pull her away from him but she managed to step away from me and push Sam again with more force as she shouted "FUCK YOU!"
