Amora had been pacing her bedroom for about an hour now, and she showed absolutely no intent on stopping. Lady Frigga sat on her bed, saying soft words, trying to get the enchantress to calm down.

"With all due respect, your majesty," she stopped pacing, her blonde hair frizzy and her face flushed with stress- even then, she managed to look almost perfect, like an angel. "How am I supposed to be calm? In case you've forgotten, that lunatic is out there again, and this time he has my friend and your son!" She jerked a finger at the queen, her voice wobbling.

"I know, Amora, but, please, try to be patient," Lady Frigga urged. "We have hundreds of men on the search for both Perseus and Loki as we speak."

"It's not good enough," she shook her head, eyebrows furrowed. "I'm going to kill him. I'm going to make sure he suffers for what he's done. I'm going to-"

"Amora, please," Frigga stood up and put both hands on the young sorceress' shoulders. "Have faith. We've caught Perseus once before. We can do it again. Commander Grace is being questioned as we speak."

As she so often did, Amora had a sudden urge to hurt someone, and she certainly was not going to hurt Lady Frigga, so a quick idea formed in her head in a moment of vengeful, fake clarity. "Your majesty, would you allow me to question Commander Grace myself?"

Jason yelled out in pain as the guard hit him again. He could taste his own blood by now, not able to wipe it away from his mouth after it had spilled from his nose due to the cuffs that bound him to his chair. The guard was one he recognised- Lieutenant Johann Óskarrsson, a man in his late 4,000s who was entitled to have retired decades ago but instead decided to continue to serve his kingdom. He and Jason had worked extremely closely during his time as Commander. Now, however, Johann showed absolutely no sympathy for the bloody, bruised young man before him.

As another hit to the ribs cut off Jason's ability to breathe for a few moments, he asked himself why he hadn't fired the Lieutenant long ago.

"Johann, stop," Fates, was that an angel? His saviour was a woman with long blonde hair and green eyes who entered the room, glowing with hope and-

Ah, shit. Nevermind. It was Amora.

Jason groaned as she marched into the room, looking at Johann like dirt. He'd always hated how she treated his soldiers. Johann glared at her right back, and Jason silently rooted for him, despite the fact he'd been torturing him for the past two hours straight.

"Enchantress," the lieutenant spat out the word with disdain. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Lord Odin has requested me to take over-"

"Oh, for fuck's sake-" Jason began, but was cut off my a punch in the face from Johann. Amora cleared her throat.

"As I was saying, Lord Odin had requested me to take over in the interrogation. He thanks you for your service. You can go now," she looked him up and down. Johann gave her one last look before exiting the room before leaving Jason alone with the devil herself.

"Oh, Jason, Jason, Jason, whatever do we do with you?" She tutted, leaning down so she was eye to eye with him. Of course, Jason did the sensible thing to do. He spat blood in that insufferable face of hers- as a reaction, she took her middle and index finger and wiped it away quickly, maintaining eye contact. "You're disgusting."

"Eat it up, honey, it'll get cold," he bent forward, trying not to go unconscious. In response, Amora clenched her fist and suddenly Jason's chair was at the wall, his head hitting it hard. He gasped in pain and shock all at once. Worth it.
