Carlisle pov

The family left the next day For the trip but not before Alice and esme did a big show of kissing us in front of Bella. She looked upset but didn't comment. She accepted the hug from Edward he softly kissed her on the forehead. "take care Bella. I love you" he said. Bella then said the words that made my blood boil and heart break as it did to jasper's. "I love u too Edward. Come soon. " he smiled and hugged her. We had clenched our fists. The others bid us good bye and soon we found ourselves alone with bella. "what do u want to do Bella? " I asked her. She turned to me and said, "nothing Carlisle. If u both have some work, u can continue. I have to make something for the wolves. They must be tired of patrolling soon and may stop by to eat. " she turned and sauntered into the kitchen. I frowned. I turned to jasper. "she is upset with us. " I said. He nodded. "we have to do something about it then. " he said smirking. We smiled knowingly and followed her into the kitchen.

She was slicing vegetables and chicken. She looked up for a split second and went back to her work.

"so Bella, we know nothing about each other. Why don't we get to know each other now that we have the time? " jasper asked. She simply looked up and nodded.

We asked her normal questions like favourite colour and book. She asked us the same and we continued talking. She continued working side by side. "what's your hobby?" I asked. She smiled and said,"reading and cooking. "

"not to mention annoying us. " a voice was heard and the smell of wet dog had us wrinkling our noses. "shut up Paul. " Bella said. But you could see that she was happy to see him.

He hugged her from behind and leaned over to see what she was cooking. I growled lowly at the closeness between them. Apparently, I wasn't the only one bothered. Jasper growled too.

Bella raised her eyebrow at us but went back to talking to Paul perfectly comfortable in his arms.
