Harry felt numb. It had been two weeks since he arrived at the burrow now. The Order forbid him from his crazed searches for Finlay. All he did was wake up, eat, and go back to sleep. Sometimes, he would stare out of the window in his room and wonder if Finlay was still alive. The thought of Finlay on the icy dungeon floor, drowned in his own blood haunted his dreams.
Dumbledore had given him strict orders to rest and focus on defeating Voldemort, but how could he when his friend was trapped and in pain. At first Harry was furious, he had made a mess of Mrs. Weasley's living room, ripping apart pillows and smashing clocks (he apologised repeatedly afterwards). She walked in just as he threw a coffee mug, tears streaming down his face, and anger hidden in his eyes. Mrs. Weasley marched over to him and embraced Harry into her warm, motherly arms. They stood like that in silence for he didn't know how long, but when he let go the tears had stopped, leaving only a broken child, scared for the safety of his friend. Mrs. Weasley guided him to the kitchen, murmuring happy things into his ear. She sat Harry down on an old, paint chipped chair, and fed him cookies until he couldn't eat anymore.
Harry gazed out the window, eyes dull and glossy, almost resembling a dead man's. That's how he felt too, the survivors guilt and the constant anxity were eating him alive.
Once he went back to Hogwarts for his 6th year, things would be different. Mainly because he planned on befriending Draco Lucious Malfoy.
You see, when you are put on bed rest, it generally gives you time to think. And thinking is exactly what Harry had been doing (besides crying). He thought that Finlay might be imprisioned in the Malfoy Mansion and Draco would know about it, Plus Blaise had told him about how Draco doesn't have a choice to be on Voldemort's side. ( He didn't want to admit it but he had liked Draco since like forever, maybe this would be his chance, maybe Draco likes him back!)
So he started making Save Larkin Plan, or SLP (dont judge, he was short on creativity). Step 1, befriend the Draco Malfoy, yay!! Step 2, get himself invited to the manor. Step 3, Go to the manor. Step 4, save Finlay with the help of Draco and get the hell out of there. Compared to some of his other plans, this one was pretty solid (if you ask him).
And after a lot of thought he decided to tell Ron or Hermione about his plan. All about Finlay and about everything, He would try not to put them at danger but He thought that they might force him to take them ( and possibly Blaise ). He could trust them not to go to the order.
There was another problem. Finlay had to survive another month and then some for summer break to end and then to allow Harry time to befriend Draco. ( or possibly more than just befriend )
From what Fenrir said, back at the manor, they were going to keep Finlay alive. But that didn't count torturing and whatever it was they were going to use him for when Harry escaped. And that had been two weeks ago, who knows what is happening now.
Harry glances at the clock on his bedside, 2pm. Well looks like another late lunch, he thought, limply walking to the noisy kitchen.
The Weasley family returned shortly after Harry's arrival, and the house hadn't been quiet since.
"Then she dove into a hedge to hide from him." Zabini explained, the twins laughter followed. "He, still covered in the pink glitter, stomped over and saw me holding the container. If only quidditch involved running, I was being chased around by him for at least a good mile or so before I dove into my own hedge and watched him run by." Harry neared the end of the stairwell, mildly intrigued by the story, "Pansy owed me big time after that."
Harry walked around the corner and into the busy kitchen, the twins stood by the counter cheeks red from laughter, Ron and Blaise sat on the edge of the table, grinning widely.
"Hi Harry," the twins greeted in union.
"Hey," he said to them, then turned to face Zabini, "who were you talking about?" Harry couldn't possibly imagine any of Zabini's friends doing glitter pranks and chasing each other around.
"Oh that," Blaise shrugged nonchantedly, "was non other than Draco."
Harry, still smiling through a closed mouth, walked over to the counter and grabbed his sandwich Mrs. Weasley made him for lunch two hours ago, and started back upstairs.
The happy, warm air from downstairs turned cold and stale. Harry sat criss-cross on his dirty bed, and slowly ate his sandwich.
Draco Malfoy, the most mysterious boy at Hogwarts, trying to act like he is on Voldemort's side but is actually doing it so that he doesn't get abused or worse killed. Oh man how Harry had missed seeing Draco's butiful silky hair, his lovely smirk, Harry decided that he was VERY excited to become "Friends" with Draco.
