When hearts go cold:
I know I've got a lot of issues
I've got a broken mind
And a life that's been misused.
I'm sorry that I'm such a mess,
That I protect my heart with anger
And cold emptiness.
I know that love and trust go hand in hand
But when my fears take over me
And I can barely remember to breathe
I forget how to trust you,
I become scared to love you,
Scared that after all this is through
You won't have me
And I won't have you.
But even if at times
It feels like we're about to make
Our final stand.
I feel our love can weather the storm
If we face it hand in hand.
I'm still afraid of the future
And where our lives will go.
I think it'll take my heart a while
To fully recover from being covered in bitter snow.
But If you'll stand with me through icy winds
We can stand together till the end.
