Good News or Bad Faith

No one could find a trace of Do Hyun after that day. In his last moments, he earnestly begged for forgiveness from the child he had tragically taken from them and Y/N. However, he didn't seek their understanding, fully aware of the depth of his wrongdoing, even though he had once loved that girl.

Min Y/N's life was finally finding stability with Taehyung and Sara. Tae was continuously making efforts to persuade Y/n to give up her position as a top shield, but his approach was excessively gentle, which left Sara dissatisfied with her Appa's approach.

One day, Sara boldly approached Tae and asked if she could call him "Appa." Her request was straightforward and confident, a stark contrast to Y/N's usual demeanor. From that day on, Sara started referring to Tae as "appa," much to Y/N's dismay. Sara's newfound alliance with Tae was evident, and together, they urged Y/n to step back from her shield duties. Even Y/N's older brothers, including Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, and Hoseok, advised her to relieve herself from the job-related stress that came with being a shield.

Y/N's days were filled with unease. Her mood swings were becoming more pronounced, and restlessness had become a constant companion. It was a bit of a new experience for Y/N, who had never paid much attention to her mood swings before. The cause of this sudden change was undoubtedly Tae's overwhelming pampering and care.

What added to her unease was the fact that Y/N had missed her monthly cycle not just once but twice. This marked the third month without a period, and her sensitive, enlarged breasts and bouts of nausea, sometimes accompanied by vomiting, were becoming a headache. Although she held no strong expectations, Y/N decided to follow her intuition and give it a shot. She purchased a pregnancy test kit and used it, hoping for some clarity.

While Y/N grappled with her emotions and uncertainty, Tae took the initiative to schedule an appointment with a doctor. He was concerned about Y/n's sudden illness, loss of appetite, and heightened sensitivity to smells.

Upon returning from work, Tae was taken aback to find Y/N in tears. He rushed to her side, worried about what had happened.

"Tae," Y/N sobbed, struggling to speak through her tears, "something happened today." Tae held her tightly, trying to offer comfort, but her crying only intensified.

"Please don't cry," he implored, his heart aching. "Just tell me what happened. I'm here for you."

Y/N handed the pregnancy test kit to Tae. He stared at it for a moment, his emotions in turmoil. Then, he gently lifted Y/N into his car, his unexpected reaction leaving her feeling unsure and silent. Tae drove to a hospital, and Y/n's instincts finally kicked in, prompting her to speak.

"Tae, please don't do this," she pleaded. "It's our baby. Don't make me abort it. I want to give life a second chance." However, Tae remained silent and instead took her to see the top gynecologist in the building.

"Mr. Taehyung, where's your fiancé that you've scheduled?" the doctor inquired. Upon hearing the doctor's question, Y/n stole a glance at Tae. She realized that he must have scheduled the appointment before even arriving home, and her earlier thoughts made her feel guilty.

"Check the test kit, doctor," Tae said.

Tae, determined to ensure Y/n's well-being, spoke up: "She's pregnant, and it's been at least two months since she stopped getting her periods. Her previous doctor told her she wouldn't be able to conceive again, yet here we are. Please do some tests right now and tell us whether it's safe for her to have this child or not and what precautions she needs to take. I can't risk her life under any circumstances. I need straightforward answers."

After three hours of ultrasounds, blood tests, and various other examinations, Tae waited anxiously outside Y/N's hospital room. Yoongi and Namjin had joined him in the waiting room.

The doctor called Tae and his brothers into her office 2hrs later. She felt a bit nervous discussing a mother's condition with four males, but their assurance that they were Y/N's older brothers put her at ease.

"Mr. Tae, you've been misled in the past," the doctor began. "She was severely injured and was thought to be unable to conceive her first child. However, she is a healthy and well-maintained woman. Her vitals, along with all her organs, including her uterus, are normal. Your suspicion was correct; she is in her first trimester, more than 12 weeks pregnant."

The doctor's words elicited a startling scream from the four big lads in their late twenties and thirties, waking not only Y/N but several patients nearby.

"Please keep your voices down while on hospital grounds," the doctor reminded them.

But their overwhelming joy couldn't be contained, and they rushed into Y/n's ward upon seeing her awake. Tae was about to embrace her, but Jin pushed him aside and tightly hugged his baby sister.

"Y/n... I'll be an uncle again," Jin said, tears welling up in his eyes. "I... I'm sorry I couldn't protect my niece before, but now I'll go to any length to safeguard this tiny bean," he sobbed.

Y/n held Jin's face with both hands and reassured him, "You're an outstanding uncle, brother, and the most attractive person on the planet. Never, ever say those words again. Oppa, I despise your tears... You know how much they can affect others around you."

Tae, despite being a very understanding person, occasionally felt a twinge of jealousy towards his brothers. They had known Y/N first, been with her first, and now they got to take care of Sara first. Regardless of how much Tae wanted to rub it in their faces, the whole world knew that they were Y/N's priority, and vice versa.

Tae made a big pout after watching Y/N release herself from Jin's hug and gave a beckoning hand gesture to call him over. That gesture took only two seconds to melt Tae's initial pout.

"Oh, my sensitive baby is getting dangerously upset. Sorry... SORRY," Tae realized that the second apology was for something else.

"Y/N..."

"No, Tae, please allow me to clarify. I know thinking like that while you're worried about me is terrible, and you've never made me feel guilty about my decisions. Still, I assumed you wanted me to abort..."

Tae hushed her and said, "Shhh, don't say that. If I had to choose between you and the baby, I'd choose you every time."

"I never intended to abort him or her," Tae continued. "That tiny little one is just as precious to me as Sara, but I need to make sure that he or she isn't endangering your life. I wanted to scream with joy, but then I recalled your tragic past, and all I could think about was you. You're the light in my life, Y/N, and I can't possibly risk losing you—for myself, for Sara, and for our entire family. I love you... I love you so much that even thinking about your absence in my life hurts."
