I didn't know for how long I cried but I felt so empty. For some time Lucy banged on my room door before she gave up and Andrew kept calling my phone.

I just didn't see the point in knowing what they wanted to talk about.

At all.

At first when I stopped crying, I had thought of calling my mom but I decided against it because I knew she didn't need any extra burden on her,  and that's exactly what I was.

A burden, I didn't deserve anything and maybe I was gonna end up dying this way.

Ring ring

I didn't check the caller ID as I answer the call,

"hey Luke" I hear mason say

Why was he calling me? Did something happen?

"hey, is everything okay?"

One thing I had definitely learned over time was to always disguise my voice well, you would never know if something was wrong with me.

"yh, I was about going to sleep when I just really wanted to call you. Is everything okay at home?"

"yh sure"
"are you sure?"

Was my voice cracking?

I doubt it.

"yes mason"

I really didn't want him worrying about me.

I didn't want anyone worrying about me at all, it was unnecessary.

"well, actually I'm at the park close to your house. Can you come meet me, please?"

What?!

how? mason doesn't even know my house

"what? Why?"

"please just come already, I can't be out past 8pm"

"okay, I'm coming"

I feel anxious.

I wonder why he was here.

A few minutes as I approach the park, I see mason laying down on a bench, was he asleep?

"hey" I tap him when I get to him, he looked up sleepily and says,

"hi, you made it" he smiles,

"what happened" I ask as I sit beside him.

What could be so important?
"you said you were going to message me, you didn't and I got worried, I also tried calling but it wasn't going through"

"but my phone was on, when did you call me?"

"some time after five or something"
ohh

When I had gone to my room after the fight with Paige, my phone had fallen on the floor and wouldn't come on for some time, maybe that's when he called me.

"oh sorry, my phone had gone off for a while and sorry something came up and I couldn't text you."

"are you okay?"

"yes."

"what happened?" "nothing"

he looked at me and frowned a bit,

"don't lie and we promised to not keep anything from each other."
I sighed loudly.

"just some stuff at home, you know_"
"I don't, and please tell me. I'm supposed to protect you remember?"
oh this guy.

"uh, I had sort of fought with my sister and I was kinda hurt so yh"
"hurt, like physically?"
"no, you know, actions, words. Stuff like that"
after a while mason speaks up,

"did you tell your mum?"

"well, she isn't home tonight. Look, its okay mason, its no big deal."

it was, a very big one at that, but I wasn't ready to put that on him at all.

"oh, well, you're going to be okay. Do you want to come sleep over tomorrow if that's okay with your mum?"

uhh

"I guess, I'll ask I suppose"

"thanks Luke"

I didn't go back home until seven thirty, mason was still a little worried and he had tried to get me to talk about what exactly happened but I didn't.

I even had to eventually send him home because he was sleepy and he had curfew.

When I got him, it was really quiet and I guess everyone had gone to bed until...

"hey"

I turn around to see Andrew as he comes out of his room, he must have heard me come in.

I really didn't want to talk to him or anyone at all, but I looked at him and stayed quiet expecting him to say something more.

"uh, are you okay?"

"yh, I'm good. Uh, I've got to sleep, its late. Goodnight" I say quickly and without waiting for a reply, I head inside my room.
