chapter 18

Its been a few days since I got back home and well I've been really quiet,I mean why not. I also mostly avoid my siblings well,except for Lucy.
She basically wouldn't leave me alone and trust me,I love her but sometimes it gets tiring to have her attention on me and I literally survive on space and privacy.

Its a test week at school and a very good excuse for me and mason to hang out in my place after school and well to also avoid my siblings.
I know it wasn't right to drag it all on and besides I and my mom has basically sorted out some things,well most things.

She still works a lot which i understand and I'm quite glad that Andrew is also working now,he said he took some sort of break from school. Its also in a sort of way that he can get to do school work from home and work part time too,says it works for him or something.
Paige well,we haven't spoken at all. We literally avoid each other.

We have a biology test tomorrow and well I'm really good at it,so mason is currently at my house so I can teach him some stuffs for tomorrow.
What's a friend when we can't do well together right?

I'm munching on some chilly potatoes chips mason brought with him for studying when I hear my phone light up with a notification.

Oh

Mira:
Hey there.

oh boy,I always seem to remember everything except texting her. She should probably hate me by now.

Me:
Heyy
How are you doing?

Almost immediately there's a response but before I can check it out,mason looks up from where he is sitting at the study table to ask,
"Who are you texting?"
"Oh,its just Mira"
"Whatttt!!!! You guys have been talking? How much have I missed hmm?"
"Uhh literally nothing,she just texted me since that time"
He facepalms.
"Dude,so you didnt message her all this while?"
I shake my head slowly knowing what's probably coming next.
He stands up and sits next to me on the bed,
"Oh boy,you have so much to learn"
"What do you mean?"
"So much." He says shaking his head while looking at me,I definitely didn't get what he was hinting at.
I look at him again confused,
"look kid,its obvious she likes you very much"
"Okay?"
"Jeez Luke,seriously?"
"What?!"
I'm seriously confused at this point.
"You should have texted her,know more about her and you know stuff"
"Wait,do you mean she probably likes me the way a girl would possibly like a boy?"
"Uh,maybe the way a cat would love a dog? Duh,not probably. Definitely,you dummy"
"Ohh I see. Well I don't think thats a good thing though"
"Why not?"
"Mason,I don't know. Maybe cause I'm basically an extreme introvert. I literally freak out on normal text messages. I don't even have any sort of social media platforms."
"You're so funny" mason says laughing before looking at me again,
"Wait,you're serious?"
I nod
"You have got to be kidding me,what have you been doing with your life dudeeeee?"
"Uh living and well things,I suppose."
Mason places his hands on both my shoulders and shakes his head.
"We have to fix this. First and foremost,you have to get to know Mira."
"Why though"
He sighs,
"Because she is a potential crush for you"
"Oh but its not necessary though."
"Why not?" He asks sitting back down beside me.
"Well,I've got a lot going on and I barely have the mental capability to talk to even teachers at school,how am I supposed to talk to another human being as perfect as Mira. I'd embarrass myself non-stop"
"Well,you know its okay to be an introvert,that doesn't mean you can't have a crush. And the fact that she makes an effort to text you means she really does like you,why don't you just try okay. You don't have to be so hard on yourself."
"I don't know mason,what if I make mistakes?"
"Everyone makes mistakes and its inevitable in every human interactions and relationships but its up to the parties involved to make sure they understand each other. Thats why we are such great friends."
"Great friends don't make you embarrass yourself though."
"Oh trust me they do. Thats what we are here for,to laugh at each other and have fun,and cry together and learn together and  make the most of life. Friends literally embarrass you all the time."
"Oh,is that how its supposed to work though?"
"yh yh. now reply her text"
"Okay right"

Mira:
I'm great,you?
Haven't seen you in a while at school.

Me:
Yes,something just came up and I have to take care of it.
And I'm good btw

Mira:
Oh okay,just take care of yourself.
How's the tests going?

"See? Totally crushing on you"
"She didnt say that though"
"Read between the lines dudeee"
I think he was getting a little frustrated at me.
"Uh sorry"
"Lol,its cool. You're just annoying in a friend way of course."
I smile.

Me:
Oh good good.
What about you?
And I think I have to apologize for not texting or anything since that day,a lot has just happened lately.

Mira:
Its alright
Its okay.
I think its okay to take breaks sometimes if we get to caught up on life.

"awn,she's so cute. She's nice."
"Don't judge too fast though. People can be deceiving too."
"Yh yh,don't sweat it. Ask her to hang out this weekend. Tests will be over by then."
"I don't know,should i? Won't that be weird?"
"No way,common"

Me:
Yes I guess.
Uh,do you want to uh meet after tests.
I mean you don't have to,just  if you want though. I mean its o|

"Okay stop stop,don't send that. You're rambling already"
"oh o_,oh no!"
"What what?"
"I sent it"
He groans loudly,I sigh.
This is a little too much for a day already.
"Well now she would know that I'm a freak right? She would probably hate me now"
"No,she won't,it's okay. Just calm down. Oh wow,she replied,let's see"

Mira:
Ohkayy
Sure.
I would love to.

Oh good.
At this point,I think we were both already freaking out to know her reply.

Me:
Oh okay
Uh,thanks.

Mira:
Sure
I need to continue studying now.
Later?

me:
Uh,sure sure
Later.

"You better keep to that later Luke."
Mason says as he makes his way back to the study chair.
"Yes sure sure."
He looks back at me squinting his eyes,
"You better."
That looked and definitely sounded a little threatening.
"Yes yes. Okay yes"
"Cool"

Oh boy,now I've got another social interaction to worry about.
I hope its worth it though.
