Spencer's POV:

Practice ended and it felt amazing. Being able to be physically back on the field again... it's just... it's just a good feeling. I'm really back to where I belong. My teammates were ecstatic to have me back. They've showed me more love and support than before. Some even had somewhat of the same experience with their drinking. They related to me, which made me have more respect for them.

I was packing up my things, getting ready to leave when my phone rung. I looked at the ID and instantly smiled.

Cupcake :)

I don't care what y'all say, the nickname is cute.

I answer the phone with the biggest enthusiasm. "Hey baby, I was just about to leave practice. I can't wait to tell you all that happened--" I stopped myself as I heard sniffles. Within an instant, the worry grew.

"Baby what's wrong? Are you ok?"

"Spencer I'm outside of the stadium..." She saids tearfully. I'm confused as to why and how she got here. "Wait what? Why are you here? I thought you went to see your father."

"I was. He ended up at the bar. But guess who was there? My mom..." And that was when I heard her sob. I pack up everything and run out of the locker room. I meet her outside and she runs to me, sobbing into my arms. I let her cry for a few minutes before I prompt her to look into me.

"It's ok baby, breathe." She takes a few deep breaths before calming down. "Now tell me what happened."

"My mom made a surprise appearance at the bar after two years." I look stunned as I tell her to hop into my car. We sit and drive as she explains the story.

"2 years Spencer! Can you believe it?! She comes back and just makes everything worse!"

"Well, I'm sure she probably didn't mean anything bad to happen. Maybe she came back to answer some questions, like I said before at the bakery." I reply, trying to make light out of a tough situation. But it doesn't work.

"Oh trust me, she answered them perfectly clear! You wanna know the real reason as to why she left?!"

"It was because of me! I am the reason she left." I hear her choke up as I knew it hurt her feelings. I'm equally as upset but also confused. Olivia is an amazing and strong person who has been through a lot. How could a mom say something like that towards their own daughter? Especially if she left her and her family?

"Me drinking, taking painkillers and overdosing is the reason she left me! And I... don't blame her..." She sobs out. I look at her with sadness as I hold her hand. I was willing to pull over just to comfort her but I wanted us to be home, in a safe place where she probably wanted to be.

"I'm so horrible babe."

"No, don't say that baby. That's not true."

"It is though. I didn't tell her about Jake until she showed up. I never told her about my drinking, I never told her about the painkillers, I never told her the pain and trauma that I went through. I just got angry with her. I had this thought in my head that she wasn't there for me. And she wasn't. But that was because she never knew. Now, I blame myself for her leaving, breaking apart this family. I made my father spiral. He drunk heavily because of her leaving."

"It all makes sense. I broke us."

The amount of hurt I felt in her was indescribable. Her face looked so broken. A face I've never seen before. It probably felt the same way she expressed in her past. I drive her home as I immediately comfort her in our bed. I hold her tight in my arms as I let her release her sobs.
