I blinked open my eyes which were sticky with sleep and squinted against the lights above me... What time was it?

My movement must have disturbed Dan's slumber as he was just lying there, staring at me with his big brown eyes.

"What?" I said with a smirk, sitting up.

"Nothing... Nothing at all." he replied.

I shook my head and decided to not argue with him. Not this early in the morning.

Looking over at my fellow students, I realised they were all still asleep... "Guess its just you and me for a while." I muttered to my friend.

He nodded slightly, looking around but I noticed him stop when he looked over to where Mr Shaw had been sleeping... And his face contorted into an expression of horror.

"Wha--" I began, turning to look in the same direction... That's when I saw him. Mr Shaw was deathly pale and his lips and fingers were a strange blue colour... He wasn't breathing.

I crawled over to our teachers body and pressed my fingers to his neck. Searching for a pulse... I found none.

"He's dead..." I whispered.

Dan came and sat next to me, placing a soothing hand gently on my left shoulder, "It was the cold." he told me.

My mind told me that he had died of hypothermia because he had done a brave deed by sacrificing himself so Carlie would live, and that it was his own doing... But my heart told me that Carlie caused it. She caused his death by being a selfish cow. If she had just shared the blanket with George, Mr Shaw would have still been alive!

"I'm going to kill her." I muttered, glaring over at her sleeping form.

"Skye." Dan said, forcing me to look at him, "Killing her wont do anyone any good... He's dead, and murdering her wont change that."

I let out a sigh, "I know... But it's just so unfair." was the reply I gave as I let him pull me to his chest.

We sat there for a while, him holding me but I was pretty sure he was only doing that so I wouldn't attack Carlie...

Suddenly there was a noise from the corner of the room. Me and Dan both looked over to see the two McCormac brothers sit up, stretch their muscles and look around.

How are they still alive?!?!

"Mr Shaw died of hypothermia last night." Dan informed them quietly.

Sean's dark brown eyes fell on the lifeless body of our teacher, "Shame... I prefer mine warm." he said in a lazy tone.

"Sean." Michael growled in warning.

His brother rolled his eyes, "What are you worried about Michael? We'd have had to kill them all anyway... May as well get them scared so it's more fun."

Michael gave me a look of unhappiness, "I was going to say we should wait but it's too late now. You've said it." he replied.

Sean stood up, moving with the grace of a predator, sauntered over to Mr Shaw's corpse... "It really is a shame." he sighed.

He crouched down, picking up one of our teachers arms in the process and with one last menacing grin at us, bit down...

"Move!" Dan shouted, yanking me up off the floor and grabbing the blanket.

Carlie and George sat bolt-upright at the commotion and turned to stare at us, "Get out!" Dan yelled at them.

They both scrambled to their feet, grabbing their blankets as well and fled from the room. With one final look back into the room, I saw Michael staring after us with a sad look in his dark blue eyes and then I saw Sean, who grinned at us again. His mouth covered in blood...

"What the hell!" Carlie screeched as we were all running down the corridor.

"Mr Shaw died of hypothermia last night and Sean just drank his blood and said he'd have to kill us all anyway!" I told her hurriedly.

I was so thankful that I was pretty good at sports! Else I'd be really struggling right now. Come to think of it George was struggling... His breathing had become laboured and he was lagging behind now.

"What's wrong George?" I questioned him, slowing my pace slightly.

"Asthma.." he wheezed, struggling to answer me.

I ran ahead to catch up with Dan, "We need to stop running Dan. George has asthma." I informed him.

My friend nodded, "We just need to get to the English wing, then we can get inside one of the classrooms and lock the door." he said.

We all kept running until we reached the start of the English corridor. It was dark and full of shadows, with plenty of places for the two murderers to hide...

"In there!" Dan told us, pointing to the first classroom.

Carlie ran up to the door, hoping to get in there first. But the door was locked, "Damn!" she cursed.

Dan stepped around her, pulling a credit card out of his pocket as he did... He was going to do that thing spies do!

"Your brilliant!" I praised him with a smile.

He set about opening the door and I went to see if George was okay. The lanky boy was bent over with his hands on his knees, struggling to breathe still.

"What can I do?" I asked him quietly.

"It's... Alright... I'll be... Fine." he told me in between heavy breaths.

I gave him a slight nod, turning my attention to the long corridor that was immersed in shadows... This school was rather creepy when it was dark and empty.

"YES!" Dan exclaimed suddenly.

He'd done it! He'd opened the door!

Before anyone could do anything, Carlie pushed past him and strode into the room. Selfish cow.

We all made our way into the room after her, and sighed when we saw the snow that was now so high, it nearly covered the window... Dan locked us in from the inside and we began making ourselves at home as much as possible.

A little while later, I was sat in the corner with Dan, just staring at the door...

"I'm hungry." Carlie said in a bored tone.

"Go get some food then." I shot back.

She rolled her icy blue eyes, "I'm not going anywhere!"

I was about to have a go at her when Dan put a hand on my arm, "It's alright Skye... How about me and you go get some food?"

My first instinct was to say no but my stomach suddenly made a rumbling noise that meant I was hungry, so I couldn't really argue...

"Fine.." I replied, caving in.

Carlie stood up and stared at the clock for a moment before dramatically falling to the ground... Probably trying to convince everyone she fainted.

It worked. Dan rushed over and checked for any injuries... He found none of course but told me he should stay with Carlie for a bit.

"Well I'm going to get some food." I said, annoyed.

George jumped up, "Let me come with you!"

I let out a sigh but nodded. I wasn't thrilled about having to venture out into my school with those two psychopaths, but with him too? No way! He'd slow me down!

And then it was time. Time to attempt mission impossible...
