Opening night went by so smoothly, and my sister was beyond happy because she ended up exactly where she wanted to be on the barricade.
I showed up to work an hour early the next day, because I didn't have time to clean up Harry's dressing room at the end of the night.
I was back in my normal tank and cargo pants outfit, but it was hotter than usual so I threw my long hair up into a tight high ponytail.
I went to my office to grab my binder and keys, heading down to his dressing room. I unlocked the door and started restocking the snacks, smiling at the fact that he ate a good amount of bags of the Trader Joe's dried fruit I got him. I made note in my binder to stop by and grab him more.
I fixed the pillows on the couch and sprayed some room spray, walking out and closing the door behind me.
I looked at my phone and I had an hour before sound check, I decided to head out to the stage now, to avoid any run in with Harry. It wasn't anything against him, I just hated sharing my quiet time with others.
As I made my way down the hall, I unlocked the other dressing rooms making notes of which needed a lot of work so that Anita could get to it as soon as she walked in.
When I finally made my way up the stage I noticed someone laying on the catwalk. At first I couldn't recognize who it was, but as they turned and looked over at me, I realized it was Harry.
"I thought I heard someone coming." He smiled at me, sitting up, his legs crossed in front of him.
So much for not running into him.
I thought to myself as I walked up a bit closer, "Hey you. I didn't expect to see you here so early. You still have a good hour before the sound check."
"I came to just relax in my dressing room but it was locked, so I've just been here."
I nodded, "Sorry about that, we usually lock them at the end of the night, just in case you leave something important in there overnight."
"I actually did." He said seriously.
My eyes widened a bit, "Oh, it's open now, I can go get it for you. Where did you leave it?"
His expression softened a bit, "Top of the cabinet, first basket, strawberry, dried preferably."
"Oh you mean the, the fruit snacks? The dried fruit snacks?"
He laughed, "They are addictive."
"They can be, I saw you really made a dent after yesterday," I laughed a bit, biting my lip, "They weren't in your rider but I thought you would like them." I smiled softly, leaning back on my heels and rolling back flat on my feet.
"Well, excellent choice Maggie, I did indeed enjoy them."
I nodded before turning around to head to his dressing room.
"Where are you going?" He said, as I heard him standing up.
I turned back slowly, "Fruit snacks? I thought you—oh no Maggie I was kidding."
"Oh, okay," I blushed softly, looking down then back at him, "You know, usually I'm good with the sarcasm, cause I'm the one dishing it out, but I guess not today."
He laughed, and I noticed how his dimples left a bigger imprint in his face after every smile or laugh. He looked so relaxed, in his basketball shorts and loose white T-shirt, his tattoos peeking through in all the right places.
"Well, hopefully you'll catch on as the day goes on." He smiled softly, looking around then back at me, "So I have to say, I think laying down with your head facing the end of the catwalk is going to be your best choice tonight."
