Running from the mess

Chapter 4 - I'm Lost

The truck reached. And everyone was more than ever ready to get out of the place and look forward to come out of the mess that was behind.
However, What they didn't know was soon going to become their worst nightmare.
"We're here, Everyone get up. This is your new home" Aaron said wih a smile on his face.
"Yeah, I'm up. I'll wake everyone up." Grandpa then woke everyone up.
"Grandpa let me sleeeep, Ugh I'm so tired and sleepy and tired." Tommy said
"Oh come on lazy chum. You need to get up, We'll sleep soon. Alright?"
"Fine, But let me sleep first" Tommy said in a sleepy voice.
"Oh lord" Grandpa said
Soon all of them left the van and looked around, more than a hundred tents, A huge assembly point, A cafeteria and a small school.
"Woah are we going to live here?" Tommy asked
"Yes Tommy, Yes we are" Grandpa replied

Tommy and Dan looked around in wonder and Maria with her husband and Grandpa talked about how they were going to take care of the kids.
"I think it's simple, We have military protection, Food, Water, Shelter everything and even a small school."
"But will the military be able to handle all of us? There are so may people here." said Adam
"We'll have to wait and see" Grandpa replied

Soon after that nightfall had arrived. Everyone was sleepy and tired, Except Grandpa. He had a feeling at the back of his mind that everything wouldn't be alright, The new home that he promised to Tommy wasn't this one. He knew that he didn't want Tommy to see horrific incidents as he was a little child and a bundle of innocence.
As he was thinking, He looked at Tommy and wondered what his life would have been if none of this happened but time can't go back, but when stuck you have to pave your road through it, To help everyone.
After an hour when Grandpa was almost asleep, A huge explosion occured on one end of the camp.
Grandpa felt a thump on his chest.
"Tommy, Tommy get up!"
"What happened?" Tommy said
"Come on, I need you to stick with me!" Grandpa said.
The sirens went loud. Everyone was going to run towards the evac truck.
Adam, His wife. Dan and his brother along with Michael.
Grandpa grabbed tommy and ran towards the truck while the army was fighting the enemies that attacked the camp.
They were close to reaching the truck
But they unfortunately couldn't make it. The truck departed and left them behind. "Oh no" sighed grandpa.
He looked back and found that the camp was defeated.
A man comes from the back
"Hey, Put your hands up and put down the kid!" While pointing a gun at him
"We don't mean trouble, I just want to get to a safe place with him" grandpa told him
"It ain't matter now, Stay back" the man said
Grandpa moved forward, But then the man shot him in the leg.
Grandpa became unconscious
And from his tilted and blur view he could only see Tommy being slapped and he was put in a bag and taken away
And he couldn't do anything about it...
Tommy was soon brought in a cave where there were about 10 people with guns.
One of the men pulled the bag off of his head Tommy was unconscious. He soon woke up and said
"Please help me, I'm lost" with a scared face...

Hi everyone! I'm sorry for not updating since a while, But I will do so from now. It's getting really hard to manage my life and the story. So it'll take a while for me to update. But nonetheless, I'll update as soon as possible! :)
