Once returning to the first floor Ruth was greeted with the stern face of f/n just she opened the door. "What happened to sticking together?" They said in a sarcastic tone.

Ruth did not pay no mind to them since she wanted to let out some steam and she did. She wanted to clean the upper floors so they don't have to deal with it later but for the most part she wanted to get away from f/n. She did not want to deal with them right now she tried to walk past them.

"Well? Where were you?" Said f/n stepping into Ruth's path, Ruth almost forgot they were there but unfortunately she was reminded of her companion. She continued to walk not saying a word  as she walked around them as she looked around the abandoned hall. Before she did f/n ran up infront of her stopping her in her tracks "hey I'm talking to you!" F/n said frustrated at Ruth's uncaring attitude.

Ruth did not care one bit about the survivor she didn't even want to talk to them. Ruth once again tried to get around f/n but they stubornly blocked her path. "Do you know how worried I was !!!" They said looking into Ruth's eyes. Defeat spread across their face "do you even care?" Ruth looked into their face as silence fell upon the hall.

As she walked to the front doors leading to the outside world to check if they could leave today. Surprisingly the horde that was there yesterday had completely disbanded. Leaving only a few

Either losing intrest in them or being drawn by another poor living soul. All of them seemed to be gone except maybe for one.

A odd zombie that she thinks that she saw this morning but it seemed different then last time. It's skin was a deep red and looked like it could barely fit in it's clothes. As it did not shamble but stomped as it wandered around the empty streets. The face of the zombie was no longer a dead stare of the other undead but a angry scowl as it trudged across the road. It's head turning left then right as it's eyes fall upon the apartment door.

It's eyes seemed to loosen at the sight of her for a moment before it made a mad dash for the door. Ruth jumped back as the zombie made contact with the door to the apartment complex. The door shuttered but did not budge as barricade seemed to hold firm. Scratching and snarling came from outside the door as ot smashed into the door.

The two survivors prepared their weapons as another door shuttering thud rang through the hall. The pair backing away as the creaking of the door continued.

After the third and fifth hit's it seemed to slow and quiet down till silence was left in the hall. The duo was still on edge as they watched the front door. From the looks of it the door had indentations into the metal. From the attack that the zombie did to the entelrance.

Quickly the pair prepared themselves as they found that they were in a very dangerous situation. Before any of them could say anything a loud crash came from one of the rooms. The two carefully rushed down the hall being mindful of their surroundings as they made they're way to the stairway door. Both silently agreeing that it would be safer to clear the second floor then stay there. As they walked they heard grunts and snarls echo down the empty hall.

Having been alerted and startled the two were on gaurd as the grunting and panting continued.  Now followed by a loud thuds and  wet smacking as they walked deeper down the hall. Just as they were about to reach the door. One of the apartment doors burst open. As splinters of wood flew through the hall.

It's skull must of been made of steel because the creature looked unfazed by doing that. Blood drips down its fingers as it's face had deep scratches going down it's face. Quickly the two went behind the door before it could charge them. Another familar thud hit the stairway door as it tried to get in. Only to be met with a metal door.

Looking out the small window the new infected punching the door with all it's might. Snarling and screaming as it tried to get in. Only to be met with metal and wire glass as the two watch the infected as it headbutted the door. Only smearing blood all over the only window into the first floor. The duo let out a breathe of relief as they sat in the dark stairs as the creatures attacks began to slow.

Having narrowly escaped the two had little time to process what was happening. When the mutated zombie finally ceased they did not seem to notice. Sitting on the first few steps leading to the remaining floors. Their heavy breathing echoing off the concrete walls.

Proceeding to just sit there Ruth decided to start a conversation. "Hey why is your name f/n like it's just the letter f and n with a slash running through the two" she said. Only for f/n to respond with " I dont know my parent's named me??" still trying to catch their breathe. The shadows of the enclosed space of the stairway closed in on them as they both look at the first floor entrance to the stairwell. Wondering where the creature was at in the apartment.

From what ruth could see it was obviously a infected that was for sure. A dangerous one at that since it seemed to chase after them with a semblance of intelligence. Since it broke one of the apartment windows and seemed to have set up a rudimentary trap. It didnt work but the thought of the infected being able to do that. Scared Ruth to no end as the two sit in the dark.

Seeing that there was no were else to go they decided to walk up to the 2nd floor. So they can hopefully get a goodnight's sleep. Not before clearing it of the undead hopefully. Once they reached the platform they are greeted with the metal door that lead to the 2nd floor.
