"We are here today with America's sweetheart! Miss Valentine Parker! How are you doing today, Miss Parker?" The reporter asked me while sticking a mic in front of my face.

"I'm doing well, I'm excited for tonight!" I responded In my sparkling gold but modest dress. I was so excited to wear it, I was looking forward to this night since I had gotten invited.

"I heard Luke Hemmings is around here tonight? How do you feel about that? I know you two have hated each other since you both started at 14!" The reporter said with a menacing grin. Why did they always bring him up? Why couldn't we just be two seperate people, I thought to myself.

"I feel perfectly fine about that! Mr. Hemmings and I are both adults, I've never had anything against him! Those are plain rumors. He hates me and I could care less about it!"

I proceeded to walk down the carpet leaving the questions to the world. I didn't know why he hated me, no one does, except him I guess.

"So Mr. Hemmings! The most wanted man in the world! So glad we could get you alone and question you without the band!" I overheard the male reporter say from down the carpet

"What is this an interrogation?" Luke said sarcastically with a laugh. God, even his laugh sounds like he hates everything.

"So we have news that Miss Parker is on the premises and she's performing after your band, how do you feel about that?" I heard the reporter ask. Him and I had nothing to do with each other.

"Well I guess I have to leave then." I saw Luke roll his eyes. I could tell he wasn't lying.

"Now, why do you hate America's Sweetheart?" The reporter grinned. Yeah, why does he hate me? I said to myself.

"It's simple, she's fake, no one is that happy. She can't sing and she has no talent whatsoever." Wow. How could anyone be so ruthless, I didn't even do anything to him!

"And why do you feel that way? I mean have you ever heard her sing?" The reporter pushed.

"I'm done with these stupid questions." Luke said as he walked away to meet up with the rest of his band. I wonder if the rest of the band hates me? I don't doubt it.

I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart (hey-hey)

And I know now that I'm so down (hey-hey)

(Hey-hey!)

"Everyone give it up for 5 Seconds of Summer!" The announcer said as the men waved off stage after playing their most well known song since 2014. I had to give it to them, it was catchy, so I clapped along.

"Next up is our favorite pop Princess, Miss Valentine Parker!" Ugh, I hate that title. "Pop Princess" I'm an adult who has a successful career. They don't call Luke any names! Why am I always being labeled?

"Hi everyone! Tonight I want to sing you all a song, a song that hasn't and might never be released, it's called gold rush." The words burned my mouth as I thought about him.

Before I could start singing everyone heard the doors bang shut. Luke Hemmings had left the building, what a surprise.

Eyes like sinking ships on waters...

🎶🎶🎶

I don't like anticipating my face in a red flush...

🎶🎶🎶

I don't like that anyone would die to feel your touch...

Everybody wants you

Everybody wonders what it would be like to love you...

🎶🎶🎶

What must it be like to grow up that beautiful?

With you hair falling into place like dominoes

🎶🎶🎶

Eyes like sinking ships on waters

So inviting, I almost jump in

The song had ended and the crowd erupted into a standing ovation. Yeah, this song is never being released, it's too...sentimental.

Later that night

I was sitting on the couch in my mansion flicking through tv channels. When I stopped on the news, a picture of Luke and I were on the screen.

"It turns out that America's Sweetheart and Australia's bad boy have been in love from the very beginning! Miss Parker told us all about it in her unreleased song, Gold Rush!"

"What the fuck!"
