Talk To Her - Luke

As I was listening to my favorite music, my music, I heard my phone ring, it was my manager so I obviously had to pick it up.

"What's up?" I said in an annoyed tone. I hate it when he calls, I hate it when anyone calls.

"Are you talking to Miss Parker?" He asked. I seriously think he's an idiot.

"No, why would I talk to her? I'm not even sitting near her." I said loud enough for her to hear.

"Because, you're supposed to be dating, now go sit next to her and talk to her, or I'll cancel your next few shows." I rolled my eyes and said "fine." And hung up.

I stood up angrily, well because I was angry, and slouched down into the seat next to her. She had her headphones in and looked at me with her green eyes and all and then looked away. It's like she didn't even care that I was there. She sat up perfectly straight, her nails were painted a light shade of pink and her long hair was braided to the side. I was getting impatient. She had to say something.

"Can you please hand me the water bottle over there?" She motioned to the pink water bottle in the cup holder on my side. "Can you please hand me the water bottle over there? Seriously?" God she's so annoying.

"I'm sorry. I'll go get a water bottle from the fridge." She didn't even look at me when she spoke to me, then she got up from her seat and started walking towards the small fridge in the back of the plane. I watched as she moved, so elegant, but she seemed shaken up. She grabbed the water bottle and stood at the counter and took a deep breath before walking back over to her seat.

"What song are you listening to?" I asked as she sat back down.

"It's not important." How the hell am I supposed to "date" this girl and she won't tell me one thing about her. I mean she's such a pain.

"How many times have you been to New York?" I asked as I shifted towards her.

"I grew up in the city." She finally looked at me, as if she just noticed me. "With my mother, father, grandmother, and my two brothers." She didn't need to tell me her whole family tree.

"You're no fun, Yaknow that?" I said back as I slouched back down. I soon got a text from my manager.

"Be nice Luke."

I am being nice, she's the one who isn't even talking to me. "So, when was the last time you were back home in New York?" I asked a shitty question.

"I haven't been home in years...I was in New York last time, about 2 years ago I think, but I haven't been home in a while." I looked up at her, trying to read her expression and trying to figure out what the hell that meant.

"What about your parents?" I asked, she looked like she was trying to hold something back.

"I'd rather not talk about my parents." She said with a blank expression, her eyes kept forward.

"Why? Are they junkies or something?" I laughed hysterically.

"No. Can we please stop talking about this?" I definitely hit à nerve. I can admit, it was funny seeing her all riled up. Plus, everyone knows she comes from à rich family. To be honest, i don't really care about her family, or New York, or her in general. How is she even à performer, she barely talks. I got bored again so i said "Here, take my airpod, let me show you what real talent sounds like." I laughed as i put on She's Kinda Hot from our 2016 album. She once again didn't even look at me when she took my airpod.

"Mr Hemmings, Miss Parker, we are here." à man said as the plane door opened. "Thanks." we both said at the same time. I got up and started walking down the stairs of the plane, there was à limo waiting for us with all of our bags already packed inside.

As we drove through the city I watched how Valentine smiled at the scenery, but sadness was in her eyes. What'd she have to be sad about, i mean she's so privleged. She's so wealthy for an artist who can't even sing. We finally stopped at à tall building and got out of the limo, the bellmen started unpacking the car and bringing our stuff inside. I read out loud the sign on the building.

"VP Homeless Shelter." I said in confusion. I thought she had à penthouse. "What are we doing here?" I asked as i looked down at her, i never noticed how short she was.

"My Penthouse is on the top floor, but i own the rest of the building, so i turned the building into à homeless shelter that my best friend runs while im away." She said as she looked up at me with her emerald green eyes. Well this was unexpected. Why à homeless shelter? Why didn't anyone know about this? I thought to myself as we walked through the building.

"V! You're back!" A voice yelled as i turned around to see Valentine being hugged by à small mousey looking girl who i assumed to be her best friend, it was the first real smile i'd seen on her since we started our trip here.

"Hey Lily! This is...my boyfriend Luke Hemmings..." I smiled as the girl looked me up and down with à unamused look on her face.

"I saw the news V, I know that he's not actually your boyfriend and i know that Gold Rush was about...yaknow...him." Lily said as she crossed her arms. Who the hell is him? Valentine laughed as she spoke "How are the twins? Oh and Mr. Marcus? Did Sam get with that boy she likes at school?" She seemed so excited. So what was wrong with her on the plane?

"You can see everyone tomorrow after you two love birds get settled in." Lily pushed us away.

I guess it's time to see the famous penthouse that literally no one knows about.
