Chapter 2: Summer Madness

M/n's POV:

After I get changed, I leave my cabin heading back towards the beach on the main island, not before grabbing the surfboard in my cabin. Noticing I was the first one there, I did some stretching in the sand. Everyone started arriving soon after, taking notice of the surfboard propped up against the palm tree. My shirtless torso also exposing a faded scar on my back with everyone watching me both in curiosity and ogling my muscles, I grab my board and sprint towards the water. Kicking up sand in the process. I lay on the board, paddling out into the waves.

Once out in the water, I sit upright on my board. I let a wave carry my surfboard, pushing myself up into a standing position. I guide the board into simple tricks, navigating through the crashing wave. I let the board glide with the tide back to shore. Hiyoko bounds up to me, "Big Bro M/n! That was amazing!" I chuckle, running my hands through my hair, "Thanks Hiyoko." I stand my board in the sand, "Does anyone want to learn?" Instantly, 6 people raise their hands.

My eyes zero in on a seventh, however. I cup my hand at my mouth, shouting of to the boy under an umbrella further up the beach, "Ryota! You should join us! It'll help you get a better understanding of the surfing stance for your animations." The boy jolts in surprise at the attention of all of his fellow ultimates, slowly standing up to join the rest of us. I nod in approval, beckoning those who want to learn surfing to follow me.

I briefly look at the students, to figure out who I'll focus on first. The options were Ibuki, Hiyoko, Sonia, Gundham, Kazuichi, Hajime, and Ryota.

(A/n: To be clear, this is a hangout. You may read whichever ones you want, not reading one will not affect the story. This is just a chance to have an intimate moment with one of these characters. The other characters will be later in the story. There will also be more hang outs)

Ibuki:

I call over the energetic musician, to which she lets out a cheer. The others head back to the beach as to not be in the way. I instruct the girl how to stand on the surfboard. She grins, "So... Ibuki just stands?" I can't help but smile, "Sort of. It does take a lot of balance." I help Ibuki to first sit on the board by holding it steady. She holds onto my shoulders as she tries to find her center.

Once she does, she hurriedly tries to stand. My eyes widen, "Ibuki wait—" The board slips out from under her, sending her backwards into the water. After a moment, she resurfaces, laughing, "Ibuki wants to do that again!" I chuckle, shaking my head. 'Only Ibuki'. I help her back onto the board, watching with a smile as she trust-falls backwards into the water with a laugh.

Hiyoko:

I smile, "Hiyoko, you're up." She throws her hands into the air, "Yay!" Sticking her tongue out to the other students. I offer a hand to the small girl, which she refuses, insisting she can get on the surfboard by herself. After falling into the water a few times, she stubbornly asks for help. To make her feel better, I minimize my efforts so she can feel accomplished.

She smiles triumphantly, "I did it, M/n! I did it!" I nod, "Yeah, you did Hiyoko." She ends up successfully standing on the board. A small wave, not big enough to surf on, approaches. Not seeing the wave, Hiyoko is unprepared when the surfboard rocks with the water beneath her, "W-Woah!" She loses her balance, but instead of losing her balance completely and falling into the water, she catches herself just enough to fall on her butt on the board in a sitting position.

Sonia:

I smile at the Princess. She treads through the water over to me. I grin, "Ready Sonia?" She nods determinedly. I grip her hips, earning a small squeak of surprise from the blonde. With a small grunt, I lift Sonia up, so she is standing on the surfboard. She instinctively grips my hands to keep balance. I slowly let go of her, "Just stay focused on balance." She stares at the board beneath her, staying motionless.
