"Jimin, open the damn door!" Aera shouted for the umpteenth time, banging on Jimin's bedroom door. "Shit, Jimin, let me go!" the two had arrived early the next morning after the ill-fated ceremony, and since then, Aera had been locked in Jimin's bedroom. But that wasn't the most shocking thing, more shocking was the fact that all her things were neatly arranged in the room, the bathroom and the dressing room. It was as if Aera had always lived in this bedroom and had never left the apartment.
Although the toiletries, some of her clothes, underwear and shoes were obviously new, it was clear that they were designed for her, perfectly fitting her size or favorite brands. Aera was surprised that he even knew what she liked and disliked, her bra size or what dress would suit her. True, working in the fashion business meant he had to know about these things, but down to her bra size, it already meant he had an absolute idea of her and her body.
She felt like Jimin was some kind of stalker who had finally found the courage to kidnap her and was now keeping her under lock and key. Jimin himself had been gone since he had locked her, and it was already late in the evening. At first Aera had been knocking on the door wearing her wedding dress, but after a few hours she checked what exactly she had and after finding that she could find everything she needed, she had showered and was now dressed in a comfortable home a robe she had found in the dressing room.
Her stomach was also calling, she hadn't eaten anything since the morning before, on the plane she had gotten stuck and had refused food and now she regretted it. "For God's sake, Jimin" she sighed resignedly and rested her forehead against the door. Aera stayed like that for a few minutes, then turned and climbing onto the bed, she curled up into a ball, hugging a pillow. She took a deep breath, sniffing Jimin's perfume, a familiar smell, she had given him the same one when they registered the RJ Fashion brand, she almost couldn't believe he was still using it.
She wished that Jimin had stayed, that they had talked, but he had just abandoned her, without even saying a word, and she felt like a puppy dumped in the middle of the field, left alone to die. Everything he had said to her while he was taking her away from the wedding and then on the plane was constantly running through her mind. Had he felt the same when she left? Abandoned and empty?
Jimin blamed her for abandoning him, for leaving him, but how could Aera know that he also had feelings for her? Indeed, he was always kind and gentle, he always tried to make all the important days for her special, but that's what anyone who is your friend and cares about you in some way would do. How could she know he had feelings for her when he had never in any way hinted at them or shown them?
If he had told her two years ago, even hinted that he was into her too, she would never have left. Her heart had shattered into galactic dust when she'd signed the divorce papers, and in the morning she'd left without saying a word because she thought that was what he wanted, that she was doing him a favor, freeing him to find his true happiness ,instead of being stuck with an unwanted wife.
Not that he had made her feel that way, Jimin was always busy, but when the two of them were together, she had actually felt cared for. This was also one of the reasons why Aera fell in love with him, imagining a life and a marriage in which there would be a kind, gentle and caring man like Jimin. But the more time had passed, and he hadn't taken a step towards anything more, the more her hopes had sunk, and under the influence of her broken heart she had ordered the divorce papers, as well as those by which she transferred her share to his name.
Leaving, Aera experienced a terrible few months, torn between depression and despair. It took her a lot of strength to get back on her feet, she started working in a small fashion company, where she actually met Lee Kwan, the two liked each other and soon he confessed to her, Aera didn't feel the same but finally decided to give him a chance and even after a while she started to lie to herself that she forgot about Jimin.
