Aera was pacing back and forth with her arms crossed under her chest staring thoughtfully at the floor. She hadn't seen Jimin in three days, actually since the night they had spent together, a night because when she woke up in the morning, there was no sign of him. He ignored her, quite purposefully at that, because she knew he was coming home, she heard him in the corridor, giving orders to someone, sometimes she even had the feeling that she heard him outside the bedroom door.
During the day, one of the men he usually left with her would bring her food, but as if they were forbidden to talk to her or even look at her, they came in and out, avoiding her gaze, not answering her questions and never forgetting to lock the door. Aera looked at the clock on the bedside table, it was noon, so soon one of them would come to bring her food, her gaze moved to the small table and the sofa opposite the bed. Her breakfast tray was untouched.
Lack of appetite was nothing new to Aera. Jimin thought that only he was hurt, that only he experienced their separation hard, that only he suffered, men, they are always at the center of everything. Aera experienced their separation in her own way, the consequences, at first frequent panic attacks, which led to high blood pressure, her medical record was full of history of times when she had been in the emergency room, as a result of another such attack.
The first months were really scary for her, after the first panic attack, Aera fell into depression, the fear that it would happen again locked her in her small apartment for weeks. The fear that what happened could be repeated somewhere outside terrified her and she simply closed herself off, relying on suppliers for everything she might need.
After several such attacks, she was advised to seek a psychologist, she was even prescribed medication, which she took for almost a year, mostly for her blood pressure, which jumped at the most unexpected times. And right now, she was under the influence of one of those episodes. Her forehead was throbbing and her vision was slightly blurry, Aera needed her pills, but after the way Jimin had brought her, he had barely taken them from her apartment.
She went back to the door and started pounding on it. "Hello, is anybody there?" Aera rubbed the tips of her fingers with her thumb, their trembling increasing, as did her heartbeat. "Ms. Park?" she rested her hands on the door and sighed hopefully. "What's your name?" she asked, trying to control her breathing. "Min Yoongi ,ma'am" answered the man at the door. "Mr. Min, I need help, can you unlock the door?" Aera asked, leaning her forehead against the cool wood.
"I'm sorry ,ma'am, your food will be arriving soon and..." she knocked on the door and he trailed off. "Mr. Min, please!" the throbbing in her forehead increased with every word he said and she started to feel nauseous, sweat broke out on her forehead, she needed her medicine. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Park, your husband..." Aera sighed, ignoring his next words. The bodyguard wasn't going to help her, so she had to think of something else before things got worse.
She went back to the table and her breakfast again, looking around, pancakes, marmalade, juice, nothing to help. Maybe if she took a shower, she started for the bathroom, her knees shaking, the warm water should relax her and calm the rising panic. "Why now..." Aera thought, her vision getting worse and she felt like her body was getting heavier with every step, making her move at a snail's pace.
"Ms. Park?" the bodyguard's voice came through the door, Aera tried to answer but was so focused on getting to the bathroom that nothing came out of her mouth. Her whole body was already shaking, her heart seemed to be skipping beats and Aera was panting. "Ms. Park?" the bodyguard's voice sounded in her ears as if from miles away. "Jimin...call Jimin...." she dropped to her knees and propped herself up on her hands just a foot away from the bathroom door.
"What are you doing..." Jimin furrowed his brows as Yoongi looked at him, his worried expression was something Jimin had never seen before, Yoongi usually looked like a painting, not even a muscle twitched on his face. "Sir, I think your wife isn't feeling well" Yoongi rubbed his neck nervously, making Jimin frown even more. "Unlock the door" he ordered and when Yoongi unlocked it, Jimin pushed him open the door.
