My Promise (Shadow the Hedgehog x Maria's Sister! Reader)

Chapter 3: Meet Shadow the Hedgehog

It's been like perhaps a few weeks ever since Maria and I found out about Project Shadow. Maria wouldn't stop bragging about the hedgehog we saw, meanwhile men I was getting curious every day about him since we know that he was a male. I wanted to know more about Shadow just like Maria did. 

I was currently in my room, busy getting dressed while I grabbed my dark F/C headband and put it on over my hair. Now I looked completed and I smiled. I was ready to hit the day but I frowned when I realized it was dark 24/7 here in space. Thank God for the stars, though... I smiled a bit because of them... It is my favorite thing in the world... stars. when I left my room, I was about to go to Maria's bedroom so that we could play but then I heard a voice calling me out.

"Ah, there you are, my child," said GG as he walked up to me and took my hand. "I have a surprise for you. Come with me. Maria is already waiting."

I got confused. What surprise? Where was Maria? Just as he walked, I began to ask more myself inside my head instead of asking GG. Then my eyes went wide upon realization. The experimental room. Could it be... no. Project Shadow? As we finally began to get closer, I saw Maria, standing by the closed door of the experimental room. Once we approached, GG let go of my hand and Maria hugged me with an excited smile, causing me to hug back. She's such a nice sister.

GG cleared his throat causing us, the twins, to look over at him. We watched how he put the code in and the door opened, causing us to look at each other before following GG into the experimental room. We walked past the strange creatures until we finally stopped at a very familiar-looking one. This caused Maria to smile excitedly and me to be curious. It was Shadow. 

Then to my utter surprise, GG knocked gently on the glass, and what's the response? Shadow opened his eyes, revealing to be ruby red. It suited him a lot by my heart and Maria's as well. But how on earth is Shadow made? That's the question I would like to know. But what I didn't know is that GG has a dark secret... something, not me and Maria should know. 

Shadow's expression was neutral as he looked at GG. He didn't show any anger as he looked around at us. But his face softened when he looked at us, me and Maria. Maybe because we were only children at the time or because he felt comfortable? When he's done looking at Maria, he looked at me and there was something else in them than just comfort... something more and heartwarming. But what? At least he's comfy around us!

GG then ticked the code in and in return, the blue/green liquid disappeared down into the sink, causing Shadow to land gently on his feet. Then the container glass opened up. Once Shadow took a step, he almost fell if it wasn't for GG catching him in time. "At ease, my boy."

Shadow nodded at him and looked at us. GG then carefully let him go and stood next to the hedgehog while standing in front of us like he was ready to give a presentation. "Girls, meet your new protector, Shadow the Hedgehog."
