"A man is already halfway in love with any woman who listens to him.". - Brendan Francis

Viraj's pov:

"I want to meet you!" a girl's voice cut through the line.

I frowned. "Who is this?"

"It's Amayra Sharma," she replied.

Wait, Amayra? I was taken aback.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't recognize you," I said, trying to mask my surprise with a smile.

"That's okay. I really want to meet you," she said, her tone firm yet friendly.

"Right now?" I asked, puzzled.

"Yes, right now. I'll be waiting at Central Cafe," she said.

"Okay!" I replied, though I could sense a hint of annoyance in her voice as she ended the call abruptly. It seemed like she was a bit irritated.

I quickly made arrangements for Sumit to cover for me at work and headed out. I had no idea what to expect, but I couldn't ignore her request. Besides, there was a part of me that was genuinely curious about what she wanted to discuss.

As I approached the café, I spotted her waiting at a table near the window.

"Hi!" I greeted her with a warm smile as I drew closer.

She glanced up and responded, "Hi!" with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

I took a seat opposite her, feeling a mixture of anticipation and calm. The waiter approached us almost immediately.

"Your order, sir?" he inquired politely.

"One black coffee for me, and for you?" I turned to her.

"I'll have an iced coffee," she said with a nod. The waiter jotted down our orders and left to fetch our drinks.

"So, what's this urgent matter you wanted to discuss?" I asked, leaning slightly forward.

Her eyes met mine with an intensity that made me sit up straighter. "Why did you say yes to the marriage proposal when I asked you to say no?"

I raised an eyebrow, slightly amused. "Haven't I already told you that this is my decision to make?"

"I understand that," she replied, "but how can you agree to something as significant as marriage after just one meeting?"

I couldn't help but chuckle. "I like you. Isn't that reason enough?"

Her eyes widened in surprise. "You like me?"

"Yeah," I confirmed, nodding.

She seemed genuinely taken aback. "How can you like me? We've only just met. You don't know anything about me, my family, or even whether I might be a thief or a gold digger."

I laughed softly, finding her reaction both endearing and amusing. "I know you're none of those things. That's not the reason I said yes. And, by the way, I do know your family. I'm acquainted with your brother."

Her eyes widened further. "You know my brother?"

Before I could respond, the waiter arrived with our drinks and placed them on the table. He gave a courteous nod and walked away.

"How do you know my brother?" she asked again, her curiosity evident.

"We're business partners," I said, taking a sip of my coffee.

"What?! I hope this marriage isn't a business arrangement," she said, a note of concern in her voice.

"Of course not," I reassured her.
