"We're pulling into the bay now," Rayleigh announced. He smirked. I crossed my arms as Luffy got ready to jump on land.
"Be careful out there, boys," Jinbe said. We circled around the entire island once. Rayleigh tossed mini bombs in his hand before effortlessly tossing them towards the island. Then, we went into the circle harbor. "Fire at will!" a Marine shouted. Several cannons went off, aimed at the ship. The ship sank, but Luffy saved us with his Gum Gum Rocket.
"Thanks, Luffy," I breathed. That fire was hot. I spotted reporters everywhere with cameras and everything.
"You've made it this far. Might as well get to work," Rayleigh told Luffy.
"Right!" Luffy smiled. He and I took off, and I mindlessly followed him wherever he was going.
"Don't let him get away!" the Marine shouted. He was pointing in our direction. How annoying.
"You want someone to fight? I'm ready and waiting," Jinbe declared.
"Not too fancy to fight an old man, are you?" Rayleigh smirked. This was actually kind of fun. I couldn't help but laugh in excitement.
"Gum Gum...WHIP!" Luffy shouted. I did a tuck jump to avoid getting caught in the whip along with the crowd of Marines. Luffy looked around before he took off for a giant bell in the middle of the streets. Luffy is definitely the most powerful kid I've ever met. And that's saying something.
"What is Straw Hat doing?" a female questioned behind us. "It seems he is looking for something."
"That or he came back to bring the whole island down," a guy beside her said. I scoffed over my shoulder. Reporters were a pain, but Luffy was fixated on his mission. A bunch of guards yelled out as they were defeated and thrown into the air. Some of them had fallen onto the ground around us. Luffy continued moving forward. Then, we stopped in front of the giant bell in the middle of the streets.
"He's up at the Ox Bell. What is he up to?" a Marine on the ground muttered. Luffy looked up at it, and I gave him a boost before waiting below for him. I watched Luffy grab the string of the bell before giving it a forceful pull, causing the bell to sound out through the lands. I saw Rayleigh smile in our direction as Luffy rang the artifact an additional fifteen times after the first ring.
Luffy looked out at the crowd before jumping down and rejoining me on the ground. The reporters gasped while I rolled my eyes at them, following Luffy. They began taking pictures constantly. A Marine grunted, throwing his sword up like he was going to cut Luffy down, but Luffy's unfazed look made him freeze in his tracks. We continued to a huge crack in the ground.
The older boy pulled out a small bouquet of flowers, tossing them down into the dark unknown. He took off his hat, putting over his heart as a sign of respect for the fallen. I mimicked him with my baseball cap. Once we had our moment, we put our hats back on and ran off towards Rayleigh and Jinbe.
"Time to go," I said, running past. They seemed to be in agreement because they were soon following behind.
