2.3 How Life Changes (Beyond HSM)

Stretching his hand out, Troy plasters on his charming smile and greets the blonde haired male.

'It's nice to also finally meet you Peyton. We've all heard a lot about you from Ryan.... It's quite interesting to finally know the man who managed to melt and capture Ice princess's heart.'

Glaring at Troy, Sharpay pulls her boyfriend along as she introduced him to the others one by one.

'Don't mind him darling, now here's Gabriella our beautiful bride to be.... She's my official frenemy since 2006. Then here's Chad Danforth and his wife Taylor Danforth, they married a year and a half ago.... I mentioned them before remember?'

Peyton's eyes lit up as he recalled Sharpay mentioning about this couple.

'Oh yeah!!! I heard from Shar that you two go a long way together.... It's a honor to also finally meet you.'

Chad nods and smiles as he shook the male's hand.

'Well it's an honor in our part as well.... Might we expect wedding news as well soon?'

Brushing Chad's question off, Sharpay yet again pulls her boyfriend to meet the others.

She had introduced Zeke, her former sort of crush like friend? They never really developed into something more, in the end the duo decided that they were much suited as friends.

After the long introductions, the gang finally settled in their seats. Troy's parents and Gabriella's mother had gave short speeches to the couple. Mostly congratulatory messages and advices as the couple moved towards another new chapter in their life.

'Now Troy.... Just so you know, although I'm proud of your career in basketball right now. I'd be  a much prouder father if you and Gabi quickly work it out and give us grandchildren...'

Troy could only scowl jokingly as his father yet again asked for a grandchild. Ever since he had broke the news of his engagement with Gabriella, his father had basically pestered him nonstop on the benefits of having children while they were still young....

Eventually, not having enough energy to shake off his father's requests. Troy nods and massages his temple as he chuckles.

Leaning down to whisper in his fiancée's ear, the male flirtatiously whispers.

'Guess we might have to start working on the first night of our honeymoon if we want to fulfill dad's wish...'

Gabriella slightly glares at her fiancée and smacks his shoulder, urging him to turn his attention back to their parents and guests.

From the side, Peyton silently observed Sharpay's friends. Noticing the couple's adorable interaction, he smiles seeing the pure happiness that sparkled in their eyes.

He had wished that one day, if the time was right, he could perhaps also go down on one knee to ask Sharpay for a life forever together.

'Okay, thank you so much Mr & Mrs Bolton plus our lovely Mrs. Montez.... Now moving on, as we all silently enjoy the dinner that's being serve by our good staff. I would like to ask the representatives of our fellow Wildcats to speak for our soon to be Mr & Mrs. Troy Bolton....'

Turning around whilst holding his rhinestone studded microphone, Ryan grins as he points to his sister.

'May I call Ms. Sharpay Evans, my sister to come and deliver some nice messages for the couple.'

Chuckling, Sharpay winks at her twin and walks up to the little podium set up beside the couple's table.

Setting down her sparkly clutch, the female smiles as she crosses eyes with Gabriella.

'Well first and foremost, welcome to my family's clubhouse.... It's quite appropriate to have this dinner here considering it was a few years ago when we had our bittersweet but yet the most fun summer ever.

First of all, I should congratulate our dearest Gabi and Troy.... They were always meant for each other. I mean, you could always just see the warmth and love that radiated from each glance, touch and speech.

I am so happy for you both and also...even though I've been repeating this all night long. it's so nice to finally have everyone together. We should do this more often. I want to end this night, with a thank you as well to our favorite couple.... Gabi, Troy, thanks for the invite and most of all thanks for bringing all of us back together. 

Have a good life together and I'm expecting a invite to a baby shower in the coming months.'

Chuckles, claps and cheers erupted in the room as Sharpay stepped off the podium. After giving Gabriella and Troy a hug each, she went back to sit beside Peyton who instinctively wrapped an arm around her waist. 

'Well, you look happy...' 

Turning to her boyfriend with a slightly annoyed expression, the blonde haired female rolls her eyes and replies with her sassy tone of voice. 

'Did you really just notice that now... Of course!!! I've missed everyone plus it's been a long time since I came back home. Things have changed a lot, how I wish we could all see each other much often.'

As Sharpay gazes at all her friends' smiling faces, she slowly falls into a silence as if appreciating and recording all of this in her memory. It wasn't easy to have everyone together anymore since they had their own lives now. Each second of this gathering was precious. 

Noticing her solemn look, Peyton gingerly places a peck on her cheek and smiles. 

Nothing more was to be said, they simply decided to live for the moment and enjoy the night. It was a night to remember. 

2 days later, Gabriella and Troy's wedding ceremony had went off smoothly. It was a romantic and intimate garden wedding. Taylor was the maid of honor while Sharpay, Kelsi, Martha and Jessica one of Gabriella's close friends from college acted as bridesmaids. 

The gang had partied on that night before seeing the couple off for their honeymoon. Jet set on having his honeymoon private, Troy had rented a private villa on the island of Bora Bora just so he and his wife could enjoy their private time together. 

A week after the crazy events of that weekend, Sharpay and Peyton had went back to NYC for their respective works. 

It was another rehearsal day for an upcoming show that Sharpay was yet again to star in, as she flipped through the television in her dressing room. The faces of 2 of her closest friends suddenly appeared on the screen. 

"And now for the next news.... Troy Bolton the Lakers' superstar has married his long time girlfriend. The representative of the team has since then confirmed this reports, his bride is a high profile and well known lawyer named Gabriella Montez. It was said that they met when they were very young and has since then maintained a long romantic relation---"

Sharpay could simply smile as she imagined how much Gabriella's life was about to change. It was nice to see them both happy but at the same time it was odd to see how life has changed so much since 2006. 

Author's Notes :

So this was a 3 chapter multi-shot centered around Sharpay's feelings towards her friends and also Peyton meeting the OG gang.

Personally didn't like this 3 shot cause I kinda failed but whatever the case, I'll be writing up more multi shots soon.
