Writing competition

Standing behind the stage with people
slowly starting to fill the auditorium, gave you extreme anxiety. Probably because the poem you quickly wrote with the time you had today wasn't a poem you were confident about.

You looked around at the participants all reading their poems, you stare down at yours; crumbling it slightly as you read it.

This poem was you pouring your heart out about the way you feel, about the circumstances you were in. It made you nervous having to read the poem out loud to strangers, to share your vulnerability with them, it was nerve wracking and all you wanted to do was be invisible.

You glance around at the participants one last time, but in reality you were looking for someone.

Yoongi

But you couldn't spot him out in the midst of the craziness that was happening back stage.

You saw the principle of the university getting prepared to go out on stage. You hold your breath in as he makes his way to the stage.

You could hear the principles voice echo as he spoke into the mic. You closed your eyes nervously glancing around the place before pushing through the crowd and walking over to the back where it was quiet. The principals voice and all the cheers were dimmed and sounded far away as you made your way to the very back.

You walk over to a windowsill, completely stopping in your tracks.

Your breath was taken away when you saw who was sitting on the windowsill.

Yoongi writing away in his journal. He looked up at you, giving you a sad inverted smile before going back to his journal and continuing to write.

You exhaled a couple of times staring at Yoongi as he closes his journal and stands up from the windowsill.

"Here!" Yoongi said pointing at the window seat, "you can sit here, I gotta go do something.."

You furrow your brows watching him walk away in the distance.

"Where are you going?" You shouted after him.

"I'll be back."

He exited the stage and headed towards the exit door in the back.

You sit on the windowsill completely stumped about why Yoongi was leaving in the middle of the competition.

You shake off the thought and sit on the windowsill and continue practicing to read your poem.

6:45 pm

As you stand near the edge of the stage watching the crowd clap as the last contestant before you finishes, you turn to look for Yoongi. He was no where to be found.
