First Nightmare

Justin's POV
"Alright Mahogany, it's time to go to bed" Jazzy said walking into the living room.
"Okay Mommy" she said running upstairs to grab her pajamas and coming back.
She likes to pick out her own night clothes now that she is 'a grown and independent woman'. We walked into the bathroom where Jazzy already had the water running with lots of bubbles. She took off her clothes and placed them in the hamper.
"Alright baby, get in" I said.
I handed her a purple and gold stripped wash cloth that she picked out for herself. She's been on this new thing with bathing herself, ya know since she's a woman. But she always asks one of us to wash her back. Then we go around just making sure she's cleaned.
After rinsing and drying her off, she put on her underwear and night gown. Jazzy put lotion on her legs and arms.
"Mommy, can Daddy do my hair for bed tonight?" Mahogany asked looking at Jazzy with her big brown doe eyes.
"You have to ask him baby" Jazzy answered making her turn my way.
"Daddy, can you pretty please do my hair?" she repeated.
"Of course I will baby" I complied.
She pulled out her tiny stool as I got mine and sat down in front of her small mirror. I applied some moisturizer to her hair and began detangling it in small sections. Before Mahogany was born, Jazzy had me practicing on a doll. But I was more than happy too, especially if I could help Jazzy out.
After I finished, I put her hair in a banded ponytail and placed a satin bonnet on the top of her head.
"Teeth time!" she yelled.
Every night, we brush our teeth together, since we're trying to teach her good habits. I turned on some music as our sweet baby girl jammed out to the tunes playing.
After cleaning up a little bit, we headed upstairs. I tucked her in with her favorite bear and say on the edge of the bed as Jazzy read her bed time story.
"The end" Jazzy broke me out of my train of thoughts.
Looking down, I saw my little angel falling asleep.
"Night night. Love you Mommy and Daddy" she said.
"Love you too" we replied together.
I gave her one last kiss before Jazzy and I retired to our bedroom leaving her bedroom door cracked open.
Jazzy's POV
I instantly woke up when I heard fast small footsteps heading toward our bedroom door. When the door creaked open, Mahogany's little head peeked through. Alert, I shot up and walked towards her kneeling down.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" I rushed out seeing tears running down her face.
She wrapped her arms around my neck letting out a sob, "I had a bad dream with scary monsters."
"It's okay honey. You want to sleep with Daddy and I?" I soothed rubbing her back. In answer to my question, she nodded.
Taking her into my arms and turning back towards the bed, Justin had woken up. I placed her in the middle of us and climbed in after her.
"Nightmare" I whispered in his ear as she shuffled around trying to get comfortable.
Justin nodded and wrapped his arm around the both of us pulling us towards him. She laid her head on his stomach holding her bear tightly in her arms.
I laid my head on his shoulder and together, we all fell into a peaceful sleep.
'My Mommy and Daddy are the best! They fight off all the monsters' Mahogany thought.
